Re: Hot Toys MMS200 - Man of Steel: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Well, that's already the case with Reeve Supes! Not so much of a problem if you ask me...

It's why I sold my Reeve Supes in the end. Just pissed me off too much! Just looked so unnatural and this will have the same effect on me I am sure :(

Name a better representation of Reeve in any scale? Any lapses aside I would be hard pressed to ever sell the CR HT Sups, too big of a fan. Saw MOS last night, and PO'd this figure right away. Again, don't collect statues, and for my collecting interests this is a no-brainer purchase IMHO. Too each their own :duff

For anyone trying to figure out who Clark was imitating during the scene in MOS when Johnathan Kent saw young Clark with a red towel this may help.

Warrior Angel was the childhood hero comic for Lex and Clark in the show Smallville. Perhaps they rehashed that idea.

No spoilers please i haven't seen it yet.

Re: Hot Toys MMS200 - Man of Steel: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Sigh. People are now complaining about the possibility of the arms not being able to sit "naturally" (on an inanimate figure, no less) on the sides, because of the torso particularly the lats being too thick.

Can't we embrace the fact that some things got to give so that the over-all appearance would be better? It's like "oh no Bane can't do the boss pose" all over again because HT decided to go with single jointed elbows. Now HT uses double jointed elbows for Roadblock proto and people are saying it looks bad.

If HT tried to satisfy those who wanted to display their Supermen in a coffin thus the need for arms completely on the side, some on the other hand would surely complain of the torso being too thin and "unnatural" or not proportioned.

Maybe it's about time you use your imagination and do poses that look natural with what you get.

I want this figure NOW HT........just can't wait.....sigh

Re: Hot Toys MMS200 - Man of Steel: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I can't believe my go to retailer, Alter Ego sold out of their MOS pre-order in under 24 hrs. It's pretty odd, considering how much of the usual criticism this figure is receiving.

I did notice it was available late in the evening on the 14th, and thought I will order it first in the morning, SOLD OUT.

Other than SSC, I don't see the usual U.S. retailers offering a pre-order. Hopefully, they were just being conservative on a low allotment for now, and they open up a second later.

relax- it will be available again...geezzz the figure is a YEAR away......I panicked, too..just a ploy of a tiny allotment , perhaps testing the waters. HT will make a ton of these- it's Superman:yess:

ThunderThighs
just saw Cavill's Workout training program for Man of Steel
and it was almost totally leg-centric:

4sets of Deadlift, Rows, Hang Clean, Front Squat, Press, Back squats
Then finish off with 10 sets of Squats

Squats are the dreaded exhaustion exercise and take crazy
willpower when done with heavy weights

Also hitting lower body hard will release the most growth hormone thus adding size all over to his body.:exactly:
He was in great great shape.

Wasn't really on my radar, but after seeing the movie, this is a must have in my book.

Plz make Zod and Faora HT.

Re: Hot Toys MMS200 - Man of Steel: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I pre-ordered this dude Friday.

As long as they take care of the massive thighs in the proto I'll be very pleased.

Now the year+ wait begins.

Re: Hot Toys MMS200 - Man of Steel: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Why can't they make his arm and shoulder like Thor's? Thor is probably JUST as buff as this guy, but there is way more definition and separation between his biceps and shoulders, giving him a more imposing stature. I think the lack of separation on the arm and bicep gives this figure as a whole a slightly soft appearance, since besides the chest, a superhero's most distinctive feature is probably the definition in his shoulders and arm, giving him a triangular v shaped upper body typical of most heroes.
Chris Hemsworth is about 6'4", Cavill is maybe 5'10". I know he isn't 6ft, so Thor does have more muscle mass, at least in the movies.

Re: Hot Toys MMS200 - Man of Steel: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Having seen MOS I seriously doubt that
Thor is more "buff". Hemsworth is well over 6ft tall and Cavill is just under. I know height has nothing to do with it. But if you consider the muscle to height ratio...

Re: Hot Toys MMS200 - Man of Steel: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I'm just assuming here, but I'm thinking Legendver2 meant make the arms like the Avenger Thor figure which has more defined biceps and shoulders, which wouldn't work b/c the sleeves on Thor's arms are like a vinyl material which wouldn't work with this figures suit

PO this figure but he better lose some weight in the thighs and butt by the time it's near release or else this figure will get canceled.

The head sculpt looks perfect. Even the body looks good in this picture.

This picture was what convinced me to PO him. I think it will be a great figure in the end.

Agreed. They can change the body all they want, but they better not touch the head sculpt, it looks absolutely perfect imo.
