I don't have an issue with the suit. It could be a bit darker, particularly the red parts but that aside the figure mostly looks okay but just needs some modifications. People need to quit flipping out over a figure that's not finalized and won't be out for quite a while.

But they've got nothing else to do until it's released now, it's what always happens between reveal and release. And more times than not the figure hardly gets changed from the proto.

Exactly. Sometimes people forget that these are "figures" in the first place. We should be happy enough HT is willing to make cool **** like this for us geeks.

Then what we should do is, after a week of something being announced, the thread should be on lock down until the collectible arrives in hand for the first time. Then people can resume discussing it.


If we did that, 90% of this section and other Hot Toys sections would be in lock down. That'd be pretty boring and then we'd see complaints and people flipping out over being bored on the forums or not coming around at all.

After seeing the movie today I am even more happy that I ordered this. It's an amazing movie. I really hope we get other figures. Armored Zod and Faora would be great.

I have this odd feeling we wont be getting Zod or Faora from HT. Oh well, when life hands you lemons you go order the Play Arts Kai Zod figure, which isn't perfect but certainly beats nothing. *orders*

I am seeing this tomorrow the 16th, I have a feeling after that I will also be seeking out the Faora statue.

I'd love both of these by Hot Toys, I have Loki and he is certainly an unexpectedly strong presence on the shelf. Villains FTW! But I don't know, we have seen nary a hint and this is looking ominous. I would love to be wrong.

Exactly, it's just an endless cycle of complaining and complaining about complaining...but theres some laughs and good discussions along the way

My whole thing is I could see if Hot Toys consistently was putting out poor releases I could see people being more skeptical but more often than not the final products look good and other than the really nitpicky people most are satisfied. I know all the ones I own or have seen in person look great.

Which is exceptionally dumb on HTs part because the movie was so bad that no one will even want it next month nevermimd next year

Look at the ASM Spider-Man and Catwoman dolls. It's taken forever for those and they're simple, bare bones figures that should be relatively easy to produce.

The more i see of this the more i like, even the body dont really bug me anymore......just gives it a real presence.

Zod would be the logical next figure in the line if they decide to make another one, but I'd actually want a Faora even more than him. I thought she was pretty awesome.

i feel like if it isn't Iron Man, then it isn't a priority. as for the ASM, i am so not interested in that figure anymore. i had cancelled my order on that.

No honestly I'm not trying to sound that obnoxious, it's not like this was batman and robin calibre. Obviously if iron monkey crimson mark 57 or whatever will sell die hard superman fans will still want it.

But lets face it the movie was if not good (which it certainly wasnt great despite its redeeming qualities) it was mediocre at very best and ultimately forgettable. Good enough and visually good enough to move merchandise no doubt, but the impact of the hype wearing of will reeeealy hurt this release.

Like for example, avatar snuck out like 2 or 3 years after the hype of that film wore off and it was MEGA hyped, also a better film and that figure collects dust on all of the store shelves until this day. This being superman, it will still sell but my guess not well enough that you will see a Michael Shannon.

Personally I found the film fantastic. Such a departure from what we know and it took a risk. This is coming from me who never really considered myself a fan of Superman.

Everyone I talked to enjoyed the film and thought it was entertaining. I will be seeing it next week probably. I'm still amazed at the quality of the likeness of this figure. I PO it through SSC. Even the puffy/bulky body doesn't bother me too much. It might be tweaked before release. It's HT so we got a good while before this thing is released.

They should be able to tweak to body without creating an entirely new body specifically for this figure. Maybe a hybrid like we've seen before but this time maybe a Thor Avengers upper half and a Cap Avengers waist and lower half. That might slim him down quite a bit and still have the bulk we all are looking for.
