Re: The Man of Steel

I haven't seen the movie but it seems like the film is being graded unfairly somehow. The complaints seem odd, like people wanted the Avengers, or TDK, the old Superman movies or nothing. If the movie is as gray as people say it is, then I think that was a mistake. Superman isn't a gray character. Another valid complaint is that the action, while cool, is redundant. I could see that being an issue too but other than that, how does that make it a bad movie? I'm curious to see if Snyder is going to get the sequel, and if there is going to be a Justice League movie.

Re: The Man of Steel

OUCH. 63% on RT seems a bit rough.

Even IM3 is at 78%. And yea, I know most of you hated it because you felt deceived at the twist or "lied" to in the trailers. :rotfl:slap

Perhaps Star Trek will be the best movie of the summer at this rate.

I'm sure I'll enjoy it, but I'm already looking ahead to Hobbit DOS already lol

Re: The Man of Steel

avengers just plain hit that special mark with people. besides...you had cap busting *** and the hulk smashing the hell out out everything

Yes Avengers had the perfect balance. I was in glee with the audience watching this film. It was fun, action packed, light humor, cool scenes that make you cheer. Yet they did it all serious in the context of a superhero comic movie. They still made you believe in all this and it exists in our world.

Re: The Man of Steel

MoS has a 65% rottentomatoes score compared to 76% for Superman Returns. No way in hell it's worse than Returns. Critics were really smoking something in 2006. :lol

Times are different though now and so are expectations.
If this movie becomes one relentless action set piece after another, I Can see how the critics will tire of it.

Re: The Man of Steel

No... That title somehow is going to Fast And Furious 6. I had a blast and I am still not sure how I happened to enjoy it so much.. :)

Yes even that movie is rating higher right now. Sounds like good fun and made the fans and critics smile and enjoy.

Re: The Man of Steel

TDKR is not looking so bad now is it. :lol

Yes it does, a lame duck ending to a pretty good trilogy :lol

Nolan inc. mess up Superman, I will not go for a second viewing to "give it another chance." I learned my lesson with IM3, a second didn't lesson the pain of watching McGuver errr Stark beat up the bad guys instead of IM :lol

Re: The Man of Steel

This is your opinion. However, unfortunately for that premise there are five, count-'em five other Superman films which have already been made, all of which can be bought at your retailer of choice. All one need do is pull up amazon.com and look. There they are.

Good luck retconning those five big-budget, theatre-release films out of existence. Just because you send down a decree from your throne does not mean they get retconned from history, as if you were the Pharaoh commanding that Moses' name be stricken from all the monuments of ancient Egypt. Yeah.... no.

You failed reading comprehension, didn't ya? :lol

Re: The Man of Steel

I have not seen the movie yet so I cannot comment on it, but I have heard the soundtrack and I have to say that I really don't like it. Others claim to have heard a theme somewhere, I wish they would show where it was because all I hear is piano, and drums. Lots and lots of drums. The music reminded me of that SNL skit with Will Farrel. I can hear Zimmer right now, "if Snyder wants more drum, I say we give him more drum!"
Maybe after I watch the movie I'll have a different view of Zimmer's work, but for right now I am not liking what I am hearing.
