Re: SSC Deluxe Clonetrooper?

Either Way the paint job for the 501 (old) on the promo looked dirty. On the actual figure is much cleaner. I think this 501 will suffer from the same. Judging by the price these ones will cost, people who own the 501 might as well just keep it and get the weapons off ebay.

Re: SSC Deluxe Clonetrooper?

The only one out of these 4 that I am interested in is the 501st.

I wouldn't mind but I only bought one of the original SS 501st a few months ago from a fellow freak and I was hoping to find another but the prices were too high.

Hopefully these come in around $100 a piece but I have a feeling it will be $135 knowing SS pricing lately.

Re: SSC Deluxe Clonetrooper?

Very tempting set but i have so many items on my wishlist before i concider "army building" at that scale.

Re: SSC Deluxe Clonetrooper?

at least 100 if not more...

I would bet on $130-150. Sideshow prices have gone way up since the original AOTC figures were released and these are being marketed as "deluxe" so expect a deluxe pricepoint.

Re: SSC Deluxe Clonetrooper?

So really just a way to sell you figures you've already bought for more than you originally paid and probably more than the secondary market value.

But hey, you get some droid poppers and a gatlin gun :lol

Re: SSC Deluxe Clonetrooper?

Actually buying get white shinys is the best. Great for customs and they have new body suit. Extra accesories, well anyone want some? :lol I don't really need droid p00pers...

Yes I did call it p00pers....

The price for the 212 and 501 got pretty high on the secondary market before the news of these came out, take it from someone whose been looking awhile but wouldn't pay 150-250. :gah: I think 130 to 150 isn't bad for a chance to get clone(s) you missed out on and get some other stuff you can use with your existing clones to bring some variety to the display. :dunno

Re: SSC Deluxe Clonetrooper?

I just hope the price tag won't scare me away.:horror

I have intention to get all 4. But only at the RIGHT PRICE.:)

Re: SSC Deluxe Clonetrooper?

Better paint and undersuit too right?

Good point... although maybe not better on the 501... but more accessories since that had the new bodysuit, but before the addition of 20 hands no one ever used :lol

Still... its essentially just a fancy repackage and *yawn* more clones. I mean how many times has this armor been released... I lost count somehwere around 17 or so uses :lol

Re: SSC Deluxe Clonetrooper?

besides the clones themselves, ill prob pick up some extras of the new accessories loose for my army

It's a figure they can reuse over and over without new money into development, unlike a lot of other figures. So I'm not sure why people complain thinking their not making some OT figure because their making clones. The profit they make in the clone line finances the new OT stuff and you could make the point that the OT figs would come out even slower without revenue from the clones. BTW, I buy PT, OT and EU Star Wars. :yess:

Re: SSC Deluxe Clonetrooper?

I used to buy the 'sales from clones finance other stuff that you'll actually like' argument but don't really think that's the case. I think it has more to do with the fact that they're good at releasing these armoured figures, adding more detail here and there but with low overhead. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for those that want them (and 501 does look pretty good... just I won't go PT) but I don't think these releases affect the pace of OT releases or finance them in any way.

Re: SSC Deluxe Clonetrooper?

why are they releasing another 501st clone? the only difference is the ph 1 bucket and some extra gear...same with the 212th and the shiney...so pretty much all of them have been released...lol...i have them all now(the old ones or customs)..but would still get some parts down the road from TA im sure....

Nah I get it... and if anything it helps me not overspend since I can skip these kind of releaeses. But I do think it can possibly hurt the overall series if they become stale and release too many of the same thing over and over again.

Not to mention I have a feeling these will come with a pretty hefty price tag... With Bacara coming in at $135 as pretty bare-bones with only on helmet and no Morrison portrait I'd think these could easily top $150.
