Still in awe of this guy.

 Hot Toys seriously irritates me with those stupid plastic snaps that they insist on using. This is the third figure where this has been an issue for me. I was opening Joker's vest to try and straighten the tie a bit and went to put the snaps back in, very carefully as I was trying not to break any. I got the top two with no problem but the piece that snaps in to the clasp on the third one broke.

Seriously I don't get why they use these. These are high end figures and using cheap crap like that is annoying. You would think they'd be able to opt for metal ones that would be a bit sturdier.

I got the vest to look good but it's just the principle of the thing. This type of thing shouldn't be happening for the price they charge for these figures.

:exactly::goodpost:

I've had waaaaaayyyy too many figs rolling in at once between customs, SS & HT. I try to enjoy a figure for a bit before unboxing the next one but they're piling up here! This guy has been sitting here sealed up for more than a week already. I think today he'll get some air :yess:

I’m really curious to hear some thoughts on how this and Kato's custom outfit compare in greater detail. So far Pennyworth said that the only noticeable edge that Kato's outfit has is the vest. I'd love to hear what others who have both think.

I won't get to see this with my own eyes till later but going off of a lot of these pics I feel that Kato got the lapel, texture, color and fit of the coat better.

Agreed. That's the only thing that's bothering me. If they were longer and sharper it would've made a big difference. Apart from that I'm really digging the DX 11 coat.

Yeah I had the same sort of trouble I undid mine and went to put it back on but the buttons got bent. After a few hours I finally managed to make them straight again and was able to snap them back into place but OMG was that exhausting! :thud:

I have no problems at all with the DX01 vest though, I opened that many times and closed it many times with no issues. So must be a QC problem or something? :dunno

There have been tons of great pics so far but I just had to bump these

I always dig your shots!! :hi5:

AND THANKS FOR DOING SO! THis thread moves so fast I missed it the first time! Great photo from SAB!

Anyway, is this figure officially out yet, or just the exclusive version? Can't wait to get mine as this would be my first Heath Ledger Joker.

So, my waitlist for the exclusive has converted. I also have a regular version coming in that I preordered way back when it was announced. I definitely don't need two full figures, but I like the idea of having an extra body and clothes to have one Joker with Pers on the stand and one laughing Joker in the interrogation set up. So I'm either going to do that and part out what I don't need, or chicken out and sell off one of the boxed figures. Either way, I cannot justify having two complete sets so something will have to go.

:lecture As an owner of Kato's outfit I can tell you that Pennyworth is pretty much right. The Joker 2.0 shirt is actually tailored better but like others have said the material is really thin like the pants, so does not have the quality as Kato's one as his handmade one is of higher quality material. The grey Blazer is nearly identical but Kato's one has a slightly tighter fit. I can honestly can not tell the difference as far as tailoring goes for the coat and both feel like they are made out of the same material.

The thing that makes Kato's suit better like Pennyworth and Remy said is indeed the vest. This holds the clothes together really tight so they do not look bulky when the whole Joker suit is piled on.

I have yet to see someone make their Joker 2.0 look as good as this.

IMO the Joker 2.0 still looks too bulky and Kato's clothes are better quality. Hope this info has helped you. :wink1:

Looks the same to me. Only thing that is better is the collar on the shirt of Kato's, but then the colour of the shirt isnt accurate. The Kato ones have the correct collar shape, while the DX one is too small. Color of the coat does look a bit different, but then again, none of it is as accurate as the DX08 89 Joker coat, which would have been a better color and choice of material.

Only reason why it looks a bit off is prolly because Kato's have been neatly pressed and iron before shipping, while the DX ones have been on a body, squashed inside the foam, making them look kinda fluffy and out of proportion.

Congrats man, I remember you said sideshow cancelled your order. It is good that your waitlist converted! :yess:

Thanks for the info DA. I've always been a fan of Kato's original offering but I wasn't too crazy about the shirt as the color is off and the pattern isn't perfect. I was always on the fence whether I should've picked up one of the custom sets. I've had several chances and always thought that Kato's handmade would be far superior to this; now that I'm seeing in hand pics I feel that my assumption was right but not nearly as drastic as I thought. Kato's custom does seem to have a slight edge but there's not as big of a disparity as I first thought there would be. I have to go pop open my own box and see for myself but while I think Kato's gear may still be better, IDK if it's $800 better

Does anyone have shots of the back of the HT vest? Does it have the fastening belt like Kato's?

I can honestly say Katos coat has Better shape and fabric. It's less felty and toyish. Katos color is slightly more drab as well which i like better. Also the neck and shoulders on the coat are sharper.

Yep, it was in stock when I added it to my cart, but then it was wait listed by the time I got my connection back to check out. It was something I wasn't planning on getting since I have the regular on order but I figured I'd go for it and figure out what to do later. I'm really leaning toward keeping the extra body for the two displays. It's my first and only Joker so why not?

It might look the same to you but since I own both I am telling you it isn't. You are right about the collar though, I keep forgetting to mention that. :slap

Yeah I would agree with all those points.

No the material on Kato's handmade one is higher quality and the tailoring apart from the shirt and Coat is better. Oh maybe the coat is slightly tailored better, I find it hard to tell the difference there.

You are probably right Wake, do you have the whole Kato Joker suit or just the coat?

Yeah I thought Rory did a good job but it still looks too bulky IMO. You can tell it is a doll and not a man in a suit.

Ok, i see what you mean now. Coat does look more streamlined onthe handmade ones. But then again its not too much difference to warrant the purchase, at least for me.

The instagram pic that darkavatar posted looks less life like, even though the kato clothes are better.

If you put that money down for kato, you better know how to pose your figures. Just looking at the two, I'd take Rory's, just because of the fact it looks more life like.

.

No problem happy to help. It is not far superior or $800 better IMO, but it is better especially the vest like a few have said including myself before. I had no idea the pattern on the clothing was wrong could you be more specific?

Yep someone posted this. :wink1:
