Am I close to the mark as to how these "obvious" "problems" can happen? If not, can you explain how they do happen?

I guess the best way I can explain this is to use Ilum Padme as an example. This figure was announced when, a year ago? In the past 5 - 6 months that I've been with Sideshow, I've seen it go through pattern changes, fabric changes, tweaks, and thats just to get it to the point that was shown at SDCC. This isn't including whatever changes the future might hold. Not to say that this was the only holdup, but I think this shows how a delay or change in costume can result in a significant delay down the road.

As for these original "obvious" "problems" in previous products, I can't say. In the case of current projects, sometimes I'm drafting my own patterns for these, sometimes I'm given patterns that were drafted a year, 2 years ago. On some of these occasions, I've noticed glaring discrepancies and worked hard to fix them, modifying the pattern or completely redrafting it. In the end though, it all comes down to the higher ups that make a final decision. I'm a HUGE Star Wars fan and have been for many many years, as well as my friend and co-worker in the Cut & Sew Department. I like to think our passion for the material will help minimize these "obvious" "problems".

Keep in mind...we've been collectors long before we came to Sideshow. We want the stuff on our shelves to look just as perfect as you do. Anyway, I hope this answered some of your questions. If not, you can PM me and I'll be happy to talk more about. :)

Of course, I didn't mean for that to be taken in any way seriously, but to say that the hands are such a detraction that the figures are only worthy of a 7 year old is kind of like saying what I said.

Unless you intended it as hyperbole.

No,I didn't take it personally but look I have SS and Medicom figure's,more Medicom then SS and I see these figure's side by side and Im sorry to say this but Medicom's quality is top notch compared to SS's below average fig's.I mean how hard is it to make the hands and head in proportion to the body.If they could do just that then their fig's would look great. But they are improving with the new bodies.I'd really like to see them use it on Bespin Luke.

Well duh. Medi's cost more than twice as much.

This is an old debate. Blah blah blah. :lecture

Next?

Calling Sideshow "below average" is an exaggeration.

must we go over the medicom/SS comparison again? :horse :emperor

the "below average" comment is beyond ridiculous.

Ok. The issue is just lost on me. It doesn't even register. And the idea that they are below average is hyperbole of the highest order.

I can't stand the fact that I've got 25+ Bond, 4 LOTR, 18+ SW, & 4 misc "below average" figs in my collection.

My collection blows.

:D

Actually, its just plain stupid. I won't even mince words. That is just a plain ass stupid comment.

Honestly, the "elitist" collectors I see on this board are not those that collect a little of both its those who are so in love with Medicom or HT.

I guess they feel like slumming it with us SS Collectors. :rotfl

Maybe Chavez is one of these "elitists" I've been hearing so much about? :monkey3

By far the Medicom elitists are more elitist than the sideshow elitists. Not only do Medicom elitists own the golden toilet like the SSC elitists do, but they flush it down with 91 grade gasoline at $3.79 / gallon.

Dont hate me because I can afford $200 figures. :monkey5
