Depending on who gets local stock in Australia it's more often than not cheaper to import direct from SSC with our high dollar and lack of customs charges under $1,000. Sometimes the resellers are cheaper, but not often in my experience. Unless it's an items that didn't sell or it's a sale item it's usually more. The only things I've been able to get cheaper locally were the Dewback and Sandtrooper (most sellers here did a pack with both in them and given the size, shipping from SSC made it more) and the R2D2 & C3PO PF, but that was only due to a 20% off sale that also covered preorders.

That said, GG stuff is cheaper locally due to GG's ridiculous shipping costs.

Snowie surgery has begun..

What ya doing to it Rorywan?

I'm gonna change bodies, I think the SS one is too fat waist down. Change the mask out for a soft plastic (after several weeks of looking at white plastic I think I have the right one!) I plan to rebuild/sculpt the eye and helmet area. And possible create new boots/hands and then weather the lot. I want to make it look like one of those 1:1 museum displays.
Well that's the plan anyway!
:lol

Sounds good mate - I can't wait to see what you do with it!

I really would've bought this figure - stock, if it didn't have such annoying issues with it. Same with Bossk..

I share your eye for scrutiny, & I'm especially hard on the SSC figures. :lol

Looks like the plastic cowl comes out without a fuss. The problem with plastic like that (especially if it is from carrier bags or bags for life) is that it will decay in years to come, not sure what to look out for that wouldn't, just gonna do it anyway :lol Gonna test mine on a TT slim just so he doesn't look as hench but who knows what that will be like!

Here's it just futzed a bit, mask hasn't been trimmed or shaped just plonked on. It needs a load of work.
I will post some proper pics when I can show some progress. He is in pieces now..

See!

How much better does the figure look already - even with just the face shield cut to a more film accurate shape?!

I'd consider downsizing that helmet dome too. :lecture

Wow, Rory!

I really like the face shield! It looks great now, and I can't wait to see it once you've properly trimmed it up!

Bravo!

that mask is the way it should have been in the first place.....:duh

:clap......rorywan

Just got in my snowman. I LOVE it! Can't wait to see what Rory's modifications will look like. Mine will stay stock because I am stopping at just one, but I know Rory will knock it out of the park with his talents.

That's a nice Hoth Dio - could do with being a bit bigger, throw in an E-Web, couple more snowies, maybe a 1:6 AT-AT...... perfect!
