That could be waves 1-3

Perfect choices. They are 4 per series I thought I read.

Series 2? and beyond

Ben
Storm
PT Obi
Clone
Palps

PT figures are happening whether we want them or not, though Hasbro did say the main focus is the OT, or so it would seem:

It should come as no surprise after we hinted at this back in December and then posted about a possible 6" line yesterday, but USAToday.com reports that Hasbro will be producing a brand new 6" scale action figure line based on Original Trilogy characters with a few key Prequel characters as well.

Priced at $19.99, these 6" action figures will be more detailed and more articulated than the current 3 3/4" scale line.

The first of four waves is scheduled for an early to mid-August release and includes an Imperial Sandtrooper, Luke Skywalker (X-Wing Pilot), R2-D2 and Darth Maul.

The current 3 3/4" Vintage Collection line will also continue under the new Black Series name.

I'm ok with that. I'm not a PT hater, so "a few key Prequel characters" are ok with me.

Comic-con exclusive... Boba Fett. Better be just a varient.

Is this real news, speculation, or a joke? Boba Fett lends himself to two variations. I prefer the ESB look myself.

With only four figures per wave (8 for the first year) there's no room for silly variations like that. I'm fine with repaints as exclusives/chase figures, but wasting a slot in the line on a repeat will kill this line quickly.

According to rebelscum.com it's real.
Didn't gentle giant do the same thing with their jumbo retro Fett a couple of years ago?
I'm not best pleased about it, Fett is my main collecting point, so so I'm dreading having to pay scalper prices for it on eBay.

Not too worried yet. I imagine it'll be a variant. Hasbro love their special packaging there.... it might be cool if it was in special packaging with Solo in Carbonite or something.

Yeah. It's most likely a variant and 'normal' Boba Fett will be in series 2.

Has Hasbro ever offered a screen accurate Sandtrooper? I never knew how different the armor was between these two guys. At $20 a pop, I want screen accurate Sandtroopers. Perhaps they put him in the first wave to show off their accuracy? One can hope

For you maybe, I happen to like PT ahem Star Wars.

:hi5:

same here. I like star wars as a whole. OT, PT, EU...I like characters from all

What I don't get is this odd (to me at least anyways) obsession to have characters that spent 5 seconds on screen. I saw star wars as kid and never had and still don't have any desire to have cantina character and the like.

I am the same way my friend. I think the background characters look cool and make the scenes better but I have no desire to own most of them.

I could see variant Fett come with a Jango style head, and regular come with normal helmet

Hey, speaking of which, do you guys think Hasbro will still do the removable helmet that looks like an ice bucket and fit horribly over a small head, or actually do a head and separate helmet type piece....kinda like how SSC does it with the 12" line?

Honestly, I don't think we'll see removeable helmets or alt heads at this price point. I expect very stripped down versions that may just come with a couple main accessories. We might see alt headed versions released as seperate figures.

Yea, I'm not too worried about SDCC Fett. Every company knows how well Fett sells, so even if they make it some super-rare con piece, you can still expect another version sometime down the road. Fett's just too big a character.

The VotC X-Wing Luke was one of my favorites. It is put to shame by this new one. I really hope the production pieces turn out as nice as this prototype.

New photo of Luke if you scroll down.
