Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

Still no pics from anyone with Bane only wearing the end-fight shirt eh? -_-

I posted two a few pages back when i got mine. they were only quick pics.

to me he is best with the coat on, the presence he has is fantastic and i really love how it looks straight out the box.

I may change his pose up and take his jacket off once my DX12 arrives, but it wouldn't be for long as bats is going with the batpod.

Cant wait to get this :yess:

I plan on posing this guy with the shirt vest and gauntlet :)

This way looks best IMO.

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

After a week a finally had time to unbox him and took some quick photos.

This guy is so life-like. I'm happy to have him in my collection. I like it that the rubber "skin" on the neck still gives enough flexibility for posing :clap

I look forward to seeing Seb's tutorial on weathering the jacket/clothing. For now Bane will be clean.

Somehow I managed to fit his gauntlet inside the jacket sleeves, too :)

Great photos there! Also yeah I was wondering if the gauntlet could fit with coat on, so I'm glad to hear it does.

Thanks guys!

I slid the gauntlet on Bane's forearm before putting the jacket on. Didn't have to force the sleeve, actually. I then placed the hand as instructed on the manual, futzed the sleeve a little so the gauntlet can be seen, and there you go :)

I would have wanted Bane to wear the sweater underneath, too, as that's how it was minutes prior to his final battle, but I don't think the jacket's got that enough room for both the gauntlet and the sweater sleeves under.

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

It's acutally quiet annoying since you have to removed the straps from the belt and it's a bit of a pain.

Oh. :( I actually wanted to get this figure just for that pose, sitting on DX11's chair, but I just can't believe how wrong those trousers look. Just not worth the money, I think.

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

Same here, I'm going for 2 look - that and the one with the coat.

Yeah I will go between the two :) I do think they HT could have given the coat a bit more weathering but it doesn't make me think any less of the figure, I think it is fantastic :yess:

Just got to endure the long wait now :impatient: :gah:

i will be weathering the hell out of the revolutionary coat and probably the whole outfit. will try for at least two looks. revolutionary and final battle. possibly boss as well.

I look forward to seeing what you do with him, seen your weathering on the Joker in the "show your batman collection" and it looks outstanding :horror

Just wish I had the guts to do mods/weathering I am fairly new to collecting and some figures ive seen really do benefit and shine from mods/weathering.

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

thanks for the kind words, JD. was a bit nervous when weathering and reworking the joker figure. but having done--or at least partially completed it--i feel a bit more comfortable. i'm no elvis but i will definitely continue to weather stuff. next on my list is an oily daniel plainview. i dont have a bane yet.
why dont you try on a really cheap article of clothing, or something you're not going to be using? and just take your time with it. that's kind of the big trick with this scale, i've learned. on everything from painting sculpts to modding weapons and weathering clothing. you want to build up in really light layers with the paint. sometimes it is tempting to want to rush and slap a really thick coat on but that will only cause problems. the early layers can be frustrating cuz they are so sheer and it doesnt look right or sometimes--like with skintones--it doesnt even look like the correct color. but as you build up layer atop layer you will see the proper color appear, and all the detail of the sculpt will hold.
anyway, there are a number of customizers out there and i bet--if you really dont want to risk it yourself--you can find one to do it for you. not sure how much it might cost tho. probably varies.

^ How'd you get the wrist gauntlet on with the coat? I know someone else touched on it but I'm curious as to how.
