Now I'm a Hot Toys man but EB takes it for me (I'm getting both anyway)

have to say

saw the new dx version in a shop the other day and pics do it no justice. the sculpt is the closest likeness to Arnie hands down.

As far as Hot Toys-produced Arnie figures are concerned, I couldn't agree more to this, buddy. I had ZERO plans of getting this and was planning on waiting for the BD version, but then I saw this on display at a local shop and BAM. Instant purchase.

IMO EB wins big time in term of likeness and it's not even close. HT headsculpt looks too young for Arnie in T2 and the likeness is off not 100% Arnie. EB meanwhile looks like Arnie's photo from a T2 movie scene, amazing.

Not sure what to think with the set of first comparison pics, the MMS likeness is looking better then the DX in those shots when compared to the screenshot below them.

I think this shot below is your best pic for showing off how good the DX likeness is, mainly because of better lighting and angle..

Really? Wow, people truly do see different things when looking at the same thing. I disagree completely.

I think it is mainly because of the facial expression on MMS more closely matches the screencap you selected plus the shadows are messing with my preception but, i know the DX likeness is far superior to the MMS.

The Enterbay likeness is the best but, shame it is not 1/6th so, got to stick to HT or maybe get both but, got to stay away from 1/4th just too hard/exspensive to display that stuff properly.

Facial expression isn't all that different between the figures. The MMS looks angrier in the eyes/brow region is all. I just can't get past the squashed, harsh facial features. Theres few to none pics where it doesn't stand right out to me.

For me the only view of the MMS that looks better is from behind - the DX has the seam in the hair working against it and bigger gaps between the head and neck

I think it's the expression really.

The MMS 117 looks stone cold, Arnold made those focused looks a lot (it's in the eyes, you see it at Tech Noir and garage when he looks crazed), his features weren't as rough like the MMS 117 though. The DX 10 has a better likeness and proportioned head but looks forlorn, especially with those eye brows. The cheshire cat eyes don't help either.

That DX 10 kills the MMS 117 with the arm and wrist movement for the shot gun though. The MMS 117 also has a micro head in comparison. Then again, the DX 10 neck/head seam looks like **** and toy like.

Compared to the still, they both fail. Arnold looks wired during that scene like he's on 100%, ready to go. The MMS 117 is a rough, smoking, war vet, barrel chested version with a small squashed head and the DX 10 is a weird eyed young man filled with hopelessness and boredom.

If Yuli somehow smashed the two together, gave the DX 10 the MMS 117's no nonsense expression and the PERS disappeared, it'd be the best 1/6 sculpt yet. DX 10 has the better likeness, from what I can tell, while the MMS 117 has the better detail/face realism. It looks less like a plasticy soft toy and more like a carved piece of stone.

The DX 13 Battle Damaged has the same facial features as the DX 10 for the most part, but doesn't look dopey because half of his ****ing face is missing and is sinister. Pretty hard to look lame after that, even if the damage isn't as screen accurate or precise as Enterbay's Battle Damage.

Yeah OK. I can't disagree with anything here, I think you've hit on the pluses and negatives of each. Well summed up.

My preferance is still the DX10 but its not 100%.

It's sort of hard to wrap my head around all these likenesses any way, so many to choose from, so many to process.

Before 2009, there was literally nothing. Now I've been blind sided by Arnold Terminator product.

Tech Noirs, regular Uncle Bobs, multiple regulars, Battle Damages, Cyberdynes. When I start to think something looks great, another thing comes out and turns everything else on it's head.

To think, not long ago, all we had was the Sideshow head or hamburger face. It's crazy all the different options there are between NECA, Hot Toys and Enterbay, from 7" to 18".

The likeness is a wash to me, they both look like Arnold, but the damage on the EB sculpt is definitely more accurate. Hopefully HT will make the appropriate mods.

Absolutely we've been living in a golden age of Terminator collectibles these past 4 years. Even during the HT hiatus there was the first EB figure and NECA's small figures. I think the small figures are finished now just as the HT line kicks back in and both HT and EB are putting out more 1:4 scale figures for us.

The Enterbay one looks just like an Enterbay styled sculpt with great, screen accurate damage akin to prosthetic work, only touched up.

The Hot Toys one looks just like a Hot Toys styled sculpt with great, idealized, damage like there's actually an endoskeleton underneath the gore.

I prefer the Enterbay, looking at those side by side, but the Hot Toys is just as much a "Battle Damage" Arnold as Enterbay. Those liberties they've taken makes sense. The Endoskeleton skull is underneath the skin, not jutting out. If you were to put "skin" over the Hot Toys version's damage, it would look like his real face. If you were to put "skin" on the Enterbay Battle Damage, it would jut out like ObsoleteMan's avatar.

Just asked my wife which one looks more like arnold the dx10 or mms117 as there both on the same shelf side by side. She thinks the mms117 looks more like him and that the dx looks young. I for one think the dx captures more arnolds likeness better but the mms is a better detailed sculpt.
