Nolan's lack of blood is really annoying. The opening of TDK always bugs me. Putting bloody holes on someone won't make it an r-rated film.

In case of TDK it could. You never know, when it comes to rating commisions (or whatever they are called). It's often hit-and miss with these people. TDK was not just thematically heavy, but also had a constant aura of violence about it, and a psychotic clown with knife-scarred face, running around blowing **** up, murdering police and turning people on each other. A few bloody squibs on the actors, might have been the tipping point.
Although I must say TDKR is the part of the trilogy that really suffers from it (TDK was allready violent, blood would just be the icing on the cake). If You know Your movie is meant to be bloodless, then why make such an unforgiving close-up on Foley's clean corpse in the first place?

for the price with what you get in regards to the films and the 1/2 scale cowl...it's not so bad
