Re: HOT TOYS : MMS DX 12 - The Dark Knight Rises - BATMAN / BRUCE WAYNE Full Specs &

I think the biggest problem that HT keeps having with Bale sculpts is that they always make them to wide. Bale's front profile is very narrow.

Well I was just thinking why the proto looks a bit better sculpted than the final prodcut.. about if it's too wide or too narrow, that's debatable

Oh yeah, no doubt...the proto is definitely better than the finished product. I guess it could be debatable, but its pretty well known that Bale has a very narrow front profile.

You realize that this head sculpt doesn't have neck movement right (on the vertical line)? i.e. the eye cant go higher or lower by only moving the head to the right or the left :slap

Besides check the yellow lines.. those are good.

But the camera can tilt up or down.:slap

The angles are different. It's slight, but it's there. Look at the amount of forehead between the hairline and the line in both shots. The small amount of change in tilt and height could be enough to throw off the eyes between the two pics while keeping the other lines relatively the same.

Even though the camera is a slightly different angle, I kind of gotta agree...the eyes have more of a squint in the production sculpt. It seems most of HT sculpts are having that problem lately.

You can't get nose, chin and forehead in the same line and the eyes and eyebrows in differents lines (by only changing the camera angle) :lol

You guys see only what you want to see. :lol

The forehead's not on the same line, per my post above. It's close, but it's not the same. And depending on how you set up the shot, the nose and chin could absolutely be in relatively the same place, with just a bit of rotational change (hence, the tilt). And if they're closer to the camera than his eyes and forehead, there would be less noticeable change in those spots.

You guys see only what you want to see. :lol

Agreed. :)

Ok. I dare you to look for two shots from the same angle to show that eyes didn't went lower in the vertical line...

You wont find anything :lol

Yeah, I miss MaulFan. :(

Not as active as he used to be, I get the feeling hes stepping back from the hobby a bit. He used to be regular in the A&R section but now I only ever see him posting in the Rambo and Hulk threads.

Re: HOT TOYS : MMS DX 12 - The Dark Knight Rises - BATMAN / BRUCE WAYNE Full Specs &

I haven't seen him at all lately, good to know he's still around, if only a a bit.

I've yet to see one that shows they have.

Well.. both ears, nose, forehead, lips, chin, got the lines right.. but only the eyes and eyebrows got affected by your magical "rotational distance".. dude stop posting.. it's just sad.

Re: HOT TOYS : MMS DX 12 - The Dark Knight Rises - BATMAN / BRUCE WAYNE Full Specs &

You're really not getting this, are you? Those two images are NOT from the same angle. I will repeat, they are not the same. I will reiterate once more for clarity; they are not copies of one another. They are very close, but they are not the same. I'm sorry, but I can't be any clearer than that. :slap

If you don't understand spatial relationships within a three dimensional environment, particularly along the Z-Axis, then there's not much else I can do for you here. Let me explain in detail. Rotate the head just slightly to give the forehead between the line and the hairline the same amount of space, and you'll find that the eyebrows will more then likely match up. And because you're shooting from the lower part of the face, you'll discover that the nose and chin have not actually moved that much. It's relativity in a three-dimensional environment. And even if the head can't move vertically, the camera and the cameraman can.

I'm not even going to start bringing in lighting changes. The recent Bespin Luke debacle should be more than enough evidence to show how drastically different something can look with just small changes.

Not enough lines. :lecture

Re: HOT TOYS : MMS DX 12 - The Dark Knight Rises - BATMAN / BRUCE WAYNE Full Specs &

The problem is the eyes/eyebrows are too low compared to the proto, and that makes the whole face to look a bit shrunken on the vertical line. (red lines shows whats wrong)

comparacion2.jpg

The apparent diferences in the brow are 100% due to lighting and paint.

You realize the images are at different angles? :lol

It's the same sculpt.

Yes. A thousand times yes.

Fancy words which proof nothing

Against, actual proof:

:lecture. :lol Look closely at the yellow lines for the nose and lips. They too aren't at exactly the same point, but with less of a noticeable difference. As others have said, it's the same sculpt.
