So it was stated the batman and Luke were just samples. Well, this is how Bats went from proto to finish. I still think it looks good, if not as well as the proto.

I don't think you can really compare these two pics, they have been photographed very differently. Lighting, shadowing etc isn't the same.

D'oh! Well, regardless, I imagine we'll have proper pics this week. Won't be long until we know how it turned out, I'm hoping.

Tbh the stitching looks more subtle on sideshow's old bespin luke jacket haha, I bet the figure will be fine though, with the only meaningful error being that his sculpt looks like ANH hamill and not ESB.

Was the Blade Runner license actually obtained, or is this just a rumor?

nothing official yet, but if they do i'd get a roy batty and a deckard for sure (thats if they even did more than 1 if they got it). If they dare tempt me with a spinner I'll be mad and have to buy it for my future self.

I think Blade Runner is the only other license, besides SW and Marvel, that I'd get into. I'd limit it to Deckard and Batty, though (also, no 1/6 spinner, unless I win the lotto).

What's all this Blade Runner talk? Have new rumors started up?

:panic:

Nah, its prob because years ago it was requested along with Back to the Future, and now BTTF has been announced months ago people just throw around bladerunner possibilities with no fact

Too bad. That is one of the few dream licenses for me. I'm not rich in the least, but if HT made a 1/6 Spinner I don't think I'd be able to resist!

And if I were rich, I'd have gotten those custom Deckard and Rachel that are about $700 a piece. Beautiful work.

Like everyone in the TDKR DX12 thread. That damn thing looks amazing and people are still disappointed and nit picking at it.

Bit of a differnce from some slightly weird mouth plates and slight PERS issues. If they screw up the HS on this what have we got to admire about this figure? his furry boots! :rotfl

I'll be pumped if it turns out like the proto. That's what I laid my money on.

google sideshow bespin luke on images, the jackets look nothing alike

Yeah, I just had the idea it might've been.. it's seemingly a work in progress outfit, but NO ONE should've seen that figure till it was ready.

It's needless to say then I guess, that somebody farked up big time by letting that be photographed in the first place. :lol

The current word (as I understand it) is that the Luke from those pics is not the final production piece, but rather a sample for customs that was accidentally displayed.

Given how great the production Christian Bale sculpt looks, I am willing to believe (for now) that the actual Luke won't be near the disaster that those picture indicated.

Haha..sounds like a bunch of fancy talk.. Why would a company put out a sample to customers that looks horrific? Especially months after a great prototype was produced? Not exactly the best marketing ploy...and its all BS...those photos are of the actual product and they have heard the backlash and are trying to keep people from cancelling their orders. Granted the photos might not have been the most flattering for the figure but they are not even close to the original proto..I dont care what light you are in.

I doubt that Hot Toys honestly wants to hand over a unique hand painted prototype to customs, when they can just use a crappy one from early in the initial production test run.

Regardless, no one here knows what the real deal with that figure is. And we won't until we see more production pics.

So essentially you're calling J.C. a liar, and HT shady and greedy and they just want our $?

I think it's perfectly feasible that these were sent for customs and are samples. If they would lie about that, i would not be sure what to think guess we'll find out soon. (they only reason i say is because they look SOOOOOOO different from the protos, not just a little A LOT!)

Ummm...essentially yes...I thought you were going for a joke and then you were completely serious..haha..The easter bunny isnt real either..sorry to burst your bubble :panic:

Whatever gave me the crazy idea that a company charger $300 for a 12" figure would be shady or greedy? I am such a ningcompoop.

Why? I keep hearing that random excuse.

They make thousands of dollars, hundreds of thousands. They have about 10,000 of these sitting in a factory somewhere!!

All this customs crap is just nonsense. That's either the real figure, or an early version of the proto. It's not a "special" customs only model. :cuckoo:

:lecture

again,I am tired of companies misleading (false advertising) customers with their awesome prototypes and then the final product is hardly near close, especially for the money they want for these pieces.

The prototype was awesome! :(

cancelled!

Teemu:lol wait for decent pics! If you don't know whats going on just relax. Lotta drama here, that might not even be the final product (as was stated by J.C. Hong!)

The main reason that I am currently willing to give Hot Toys the benefit of the doubt is simply because it does look so terrible.

The Batman DX12 prototype to production caparison:

Versus the Luke prototype to production caparison:

Two figures released at the same time with, not just a slight, but a massive difference in production quality. This would be such a complete lapse in every level of production quality control that we are just not seeing with any other release. (Even Indy wasn't this bad.)
