You mean just the cowl and mouth pieces right? the figure sans cowl + mouthpiece looks really good IMO.

But isn't that what makes up the figure on a whole? The cowl and mouth sculpts? I mean I don't want to be paying 300 dollars for an upgraded body and some new accessories. For me it doesn't add up

The mouth pieces and headsculpt on this... wow. I dunno, they've improved the texturing and lost the 'soft sculpt', but the paint job and the finish... just absolutely destroys it. They need to get rid of that tan colouring and that horrible glossy coat.

The armour and body look amazing though. Incredible piece of art as far as the jaw down.

I actually think everything below the neck looks pretty ace. However, none of that counts for squat if the heads are doody.

I can agree with that. many HT figures have become a questionable purchase for sure. this and Joker however were a no brainer for me and glad that I am happy with the end product. I wish the lot of you guys had my eyes. You'd be a lot happier collecting that for sure

For myself, I'd rather get my money's worth. This figure isn't worth it in my opinion. I'd rather get something of equal value that delivers on what it promises. If this was Hot Toys first run with Batman, this figure would be a masterpiece no doubt. But with the third time around, I expected more for what I'm paying for. Again to his own of course. I wouldn't discourage anyone from a purchase

The cowl and neck are truly garish. Proportions wise the neck and cowl/head are to thin, which throws off the look of the entire figure. Awful giraffe neck.

The Bale head is okay. But i'm only concerned with the cowl head, since its the only way I would display it.

The rest of the figure is pretty good, but spoiled from the neck up.

Hot toys couldn't sculpt a batman cowl if their lives depended on it.

Oh! and I didn't even mention those comical looking face plates!

Seems like a bit of a mixed bag. There are some pictures where I can see why people are disappointed, but I also think there are some pictures where the figure looks pretty damn good. I think in hand and being able to pose it ourselves the figure is going to look a lot better. December can't come soon enough.

Neck's there to allow for some "posability" on the Batpod.

I'm quite surprised they didn't do anything from the prototype to the release though. Looks real bad. And what's up with the gloss on the figure? Might just be the lighting but my 02 doesn't have so much gloss on it. Glad I didn't sell my 02.

Now we just have to wait for the full glory of the cowl on the 1/4th scale one

loving everything but the cowl head, i'm not extremely fussy with little things not being right but that cowl head is way off, the eyes bug the hell out of me, i hope i can get a custom cowl head at somepoint cause other than that i'm loving this figure
