Dredd - 5/10 Don't see what the hype was about. Not much of a story, Lena Heady should stick to Game of Thrones, and it just tried to be too gory for nothing. Went to see it with a group and we all thought the same thing after the movie.

My cousin's husband had an intimate encounter with Lena Headley before she was famous apparently. I'll grant you not as impressive as if I said "I had an intimate encounter with Lena Headley before she was famous". Oh well.

I suppose most people would consider Mad Max (RW) just another action movie. Imo its about as accurate a look into a realistic future as you'll ever get. The action and stunts are legendary. All others are imitators imo.

Very watch able movie. I love the voice cast and the directing is near perfect! Been watching a lot of Wes Anderson movies lately.

I really enjoyed it. Not much of a story, but more of an action in your face violence and explosions type movie. I liked it. It really reminded me of a cross between robocop and The Raid. Again nothing you need to put your thinking cap on for. Just sit back and watch the blood fly.

There are no goths in either film.


Dredd - 7.5/10 - Nice gritty film. I was expecting a bit more violence as much as people were gushing about it. I still like the first film.

Beyond The Black Rainbow - 8/10 - Loved this movie. The way it shot, the fx, the soundtrack and style.

The animation was brilliant, the story a bit fast and lacking IMO.

Yeah, my expectations might have been too high, I don't know.
I just found it all to be too convenient at times. There never really was any investigation going on, because Tintin always seemed to find the next right clues within mere moments... I also found it predictable at times.

Overall not a bad watch, just not what I'd expected.
