My 4 year old saw the promo pics of this figure and the first thing she said was, "Is this fat Batman Daddy?"

I didn't think the legs looked too fat, but now my daughter has me rethinking my initial thoughts.

That's what I first thought when the pics came out but it all depends on the angle. In some pictures the thighs look fine whereas in others they look too fat.

The same with his stomach, there are some photos where side plates are on the same front plane as the stomach plates which makes the stomach look wider and therefore fatter. In other pics it looks fine.

:lol Thats funny! Gotta love kids, its funny because I'll show my 7 year old nephew all the new figures and we'll have in depth conversations about them.

Re: HOT TOYS : MMS DX 12 - The Dark Knight Rises - Batman/Bruce Wayne Full specs and

I wonder, after seeing this, if HT could have made 89 Bats in the same way with the armor on top of a suit instead of going all rubber???

The 89 Batman was pretty much all rubber, how else would they duplicate that and still have it flexible?

So, at the end of the day the face plate wasn't neutral... :monkey1

Looks pretty neutral to me. Basically a straight line from the edges of the mouth through the middle of his lips. The slight overlap/overhang at the edges of his mouth curve upward a hair and give the slight illusion of a smile.

I wish the boots were like the takara boots... :(

They are. :dunno

Like the big ol Takara Tennis Shoes?
No - one piece.

The Takara boots are not one piece. That's why people don't like these boots.

Takara (on right):

I'm guessing that in your first post above you meant to say "I wish the boots weren't like the takara boots... :("

Am I right?

It's neutral. The debate was put to bed a while ago.

I don't see how it is. Yes only the tips of the mouth are upwards but for a mouth to be neutral the tips of the mouth need to be facing (slightly) downwards.

But i suppose the angle from which you look at the figure also makes a difference

well, is not the kind of "neutral" expression that I like, and I'm pretty sure most of the member would like to have an even more "neutral" expression.

It's not the angle is the face plate :monkey1

Do you see this face as neutral?

If so...

Are you guys prepared for a stunning revelation? And I'm prepared to eat some crow. I did a quick mouth swap, and...

Turns out what I thought was a smirking mouth plate...is probably neutral. Some of you guys were right.

It's practically exactly the same expression as the mouth on the Bale head sculpt. Just the mouth plate's lips are fully closed.

dun dun dun!

Perhaps you just want someone else's neutral face on this figure.

Or maybe I want this neutral face on this figure:

Or this one:

But this one:

Even if is "accurate" enough is not good as a face plate.. I'm sorry :monkey1
