Re: Grim Reaper The Dead

I'm very disappointed to learn that this is a LSF but at the same time it looks just so damn awesome. I'm still going to get it as I'm looking forward to displaying all four of the dead releases with this monster in the center.

Re: Grim Reaper The Dead

Maybe now this will end the stupid idea that LSF = 2k. We now know it does not. This is around the size of the upcoming Sauron PF so I guess we have an approximate price.

I guess so, but this is a SS original, makes a big difference.

Crap, LSF! I really wanted this one, but I don't think I can swing this, maybe with an origionals coupon, I'm sure I've still got a code from that someplace, saves 10%! that's a big chunk on this one.

Wish I had one of those 10% coupons. I love this piece, but won't be ordering it.

LOL $1000 for a lsf skeleton.

owned... :slap

I don't see anything wrong with the price, I didn't know how huge this thing is, I figured it would be about 24in tall. The details are incredible. Just can't spend 1k on a Reaper. The helmet is wicked too.

ummmmm....does he have three right arms? what's up with that?:dunno

There's a reason for that, read the back story on it.

SS website states that it's about 33" tall.

I like the details on this one and the back story sounds pretty cool but, I don't think that I'll be getting this one after all b/c, it's too tall for me. If it were just 24" then maybe. Oh well.. money saved. :)

As for the price tag. $1,000 sounds about right to me. Considering that the Big Chap Maquette costed $800 and that was around 28" tall, this one is way bigger than Chap and only $200 more and has a lot of nice detail form head to toe.

Congrats to anyone who can fit this badboy into their house, lol

Re: Grim Reaper The Dead

The backstory definitely adds to the piece. I like it.

I wish it was smaller (1/4 scale) because I live in an apartment in NYC! Haha

But I just have to have this.

Like I said the back story clinched it for me.

This real sketch by the wounded soldier Marcel Lazare should be included as an exclusive art print. That would be killer!!!

In fact I would like a scroll with the story too. I would display the whole lot together! The fact that it's based on a sketch from the mind of a traumatized soldier of what he claims to have seen makes it so much more interesting than pure fiction.

Re: Grim Reaper The Dead LSF

Who needs a backstory of the grim reaper? Or doesn't know who this character is?

On another forum they were also complaining why Sideshow would make an LSF of an "unknown" character lol

I thought it was a joke of some kind.
What's wrong with making a character from folklore, myth, and historical religious beliefs?

It is pretty tall, but I can find room for this if I really want it. Just will go on a lower table, next to Optimus Prime Maquette or something.

I actually passed on the Dark Rider PF, because that was too tall and out of place with the rest of my LOTR line up and my display plans with those.
But I can find a spot for a stand alone guy.

Reaper or not, it's just a very cool looking bad a$$ skeleton of death. I've always loved the concept of "death" being an entity, and not just something that happens to you.

Re: Grim Reaper The Dead

what the hell is going on with their prices any more? really?

Dude, it's a 33 inch tall figure. It's in their "LSF" line. Deal with it people lol
Can't afford it, oh well.

If you really want something, you can budget and prioritize.
I see people on here with like 15 things or more on preorder.
If you're doing stuff like that, then prioritize what you "truly" want and can envision on your shelf to enjoy for years to come.

The The Reaper: Death's General Legendary Scale(TM) Figure features:
•Helmeted 'General' Portrait
•Un-helmeted 'Reaper' Portrait
•Alternate hands wielding either the classic Reaper's Scythe or Flamberge Great Sword
•Complete multimedia presentation in polystone, metal, fabric, leather
•Intricate relief sculpture detail on armor
•Grand display base featuring the 'litter of war left in the Reaper's wake

Re: Grim Reaper The Dead LSF

Yup this pretty much sealed the deal for me buying the wolf predator LSF at $2000. I can understand the wolf is probably harder to create but come'on......$1000 for this and its just as big and detailed. Yup, no way I pay 2k for the Wolf just because its a predator.

that same thought of mind can apply to all the other LSF's. This isn't a popular character by any stretch of the imagination, SS won't sell many of these because of that + price tag. That's the reason why this is so much lower then the others. Of course, not licensing fees as well.

Re: Grim Reaper The Dead LSF

That sucks that this was always advertised in the production peeks and everything else as a PF and now it is LSF. Going to have to pass. Really wanted this too.

Lol, nobody said you need a back story. We all know this is a depiction of the Grim Reaper.

But I find this back story extremely compelling because it's fact not fiction. And the statue is based on the sketch by a real traumatized, wounded soldier from WW1.
The sketch comes directly from him almost 100 years ago!

Read the story if you haven't. It really adds to the value of this statue to me. It's not just made up by a modern day artist.
