Re: The Man of Steel

Can't really tell anything from that shot. Looks like a Batman poster with the lighting and the pose. I'll reserve judgment. At the very least with Snyder we will get some great Superman action.

In slo-mo with objects in mid air. Then just add a few film speed ramps.
Yawn.

Re: The Man of Steel

Uh, I do not agree about Warner holding back Superman because they want to only focus on Bats and Hobbits. Like any company, they want to release as much products out as possible to make money.

Just look at HT now with all these multiple preorders and even niche marker companies like Porsche making 4 door sedans and SUV.

Re: The Man of Steel

And unlike Spider-Man, this is not an unnessesary reboot of the entire franchise....:lol

Re: The Man of Steel

And I just want to see a Superman movie of him kicking ass. I think Snyder it gonna give us that.

Re: The Man of Steel

Something I had not considered before, but now I am wondering. Will Man of Steel be set in modern times or the 1940's? The reason I was thinking that is tat the S is definately from the 1940's (Or Earth 2, but nevermind that :) ). Perhaps WB wanted to do a similar thing that Marvel did with Captain America. I dunno.

That would be the most absurd move ever.

DO NOT WANT.

No, this will be set in modern times.

Re: The Man of Steel

I actually like the muted colors. Seems to add a level of realism to it. (as real as an alien from another world who travels in a crystal ship as a baby and has superpowers can be)

Re: The Man of Steel

I love the muted colors and the "alien" texture of the suit. I do think they could go a little more subtle on the texture though.

As for the look in the photo, I can understand why people think he looks villainous, but I honestly think they were going for "badass," which I think is exciting.

If they want to take the "this aint your Daddy's Superman" approach, I have no problem with it. I always have the Reeve Superman films if I feel like revisiting "classic" Supes.

Re: The Man of Steel

Suit looks pretty cool. Don't love it or hate it at this point but like I said it looks cool enough. I am very curious to see what a Snyder/Nolan combo can do for Supes. For me that the part that has me the most interested in how this all goes. As far as the actor playing Superman he doesn't give a superman vibe to me but I'll wait until I see a trailer at least before I fall totally on one side of the fence or the other.

Kinda looks like lizard skin.

Wow, I was really worried when I first saw him on set in that white dress shirt, but that right there is Superman.

I am definately more excited for this after that image then I am for TDKR now after seeing "Catwoman" in her Fisher Price Splinter Cell Sam Fisher Little Tykes Pool Goggles.

Re: The Man of Steel

I thought he was supposed to represent the red and blue of the american flag? Have you guys changed it without telling anyone?
