The problem with SS doing SW is that they will do one great figure and then followed by three or four mediocre or sucky ones. Basically, they have more missed than hit with their SW line. The only few they really did right were Yoda, Vader, and Old Ben. Everything else is just product that never live up to their full potential.

And the big head syndrome. SS has been doing SW for like how long and they couldn't even get the size of the head right.

I agree Sideshow have been doing this line for a while now, so it's only natural in a line so vast to have hits and misses. They have been improving over the years, look at the Stormtrooper Luke sculpt to earlier versions of Luke. But the same may be able to be applied to Hot Toys too, looking at some of their earlier sculpts. Both companies are improving over time IMHO.

No need to be insulting galactiboy. Please calm down. 2006 and 2007 aren't 2 years apart. I'm not trying to prove I'm right. I'm just giving you my perspective of how I was thinking during that time when I was collecting 1/6 scale figures. I just thought back then, in 2007 that hot toys quality was better then sideshows. It's just an opinion, it's not in any way shape or form implying that I know more than anybody else. It's just an opinion based on 2 figures that I have that are around a year apart. I could be wrong, but at the time that was all I had to go by based on my limited knowledge.

I mentioned above that I had never owned a human hot toys figure back in 2007, so the only thing I had to go by was my t-800 endo as a comparison. No need to be insulting and harsh buddy. I'm not trying to be right. I'm just trying to explain my perspective as to how I came to the conclusion that hot toys was the better 1/6 company then SS back in 2007 IMHO. Sheesh! :slap galactiboy, don't get all your pantys in a bunch and just take a chill pill. There are other things in life that are worth getting angry over, and this is not one of them. Dam. :lol Can't we all just get along?! :1-1:

Agreed, saying you were coming off like an idiot was a bit harsh... but I really could not find a more suitable word :huh

But, again comparing wildly different figures and only basing your opinion (which you seemed to have to repeat ad nauseam) on just two figures is ridiculous.

Ah, ridiculous... that was the better word I was looking for :lol

But no worries, my panties are fully unbunched :yess:

SS SW might be decent for its time but SS honestly never did the line justice. I understand SS keeping prices low so more people can afford it but SW deserves a a better represensation.

There are plenty of valid criticisms to be made regarding Sideshow's human figures, but those are the minority of what they've offered in the past five years, and the rest have been excellent.

And because it seems you don't fully understand what's going on, Hot Toys did not 'get' Star Wars. They're collaborating with Sideshow to offer DX versions of figures that were released in the past and don't live up to the better (and more numerous) elements of the Sideshow 1:6 line. It's not an issue of the earlier human figures living up to Hot Toys' standards, but of living up to what Sideshow has achieved in the realm of creatures, troopers, and (now) droids.

Hot Toys hasn't assumed the line and won't be.

And Kit Fisto, Plo Koon, Ki Adi Mundi, Darth Maul, Rebel Fleet Trooper, Endor troopers, Lando Calrissian, all three Palpatine figures, Boussh, Bib Fortuna, Jabba, Sandtroopers, Clone Troopers, Clone Commanders, Gammorean Guards, Greedo, Hammerhead...

Do you even know when the last human figure that looked like that was released?

I'm really stoked, as this is my favourite version of Luke over the three OT's... It'll be a definite buy, but I hope that HT will focus on simply the core characters leaving the fringe and army builders to SSC.

After Bespin Luke my top HT wants (even though most have already been released and purchased) are:

Han (ANH or ESB... it doesn't matter)
Chewie
droids
Slave Leia

and for the PT:

Count Dooku
Geonosis Arena Padme

Good time to be a SW 1/6 collector. :hi5::clap:clap

Agree they should just redo all the ones SS borked.

This one/ANH Luke

ESB/ANH Han

Leia

I still think Jedi Luke is good, But Imagine what HT could do...:yess:

My favorite too.

But after Ben and Palpatine, don't you think Sideshow could handle Dooku?

I'd be happy with a Dooku from SSC-- I'd just love to see what HT would do with a Christopher Lee hs. For that matter I'd love to Tarkin from ANYONE...

Even if HT does release a Jedi Luke I'll still keep the original Sideshow figure. Lot of different looks in ROTJ, so the Sideshow version would likely just get moved to a different area.

But most other figures would just get a straight replacement as I don't need multiples of every figure.

I'm intersted in Bespin Luke as long as it fits in with the rest of the SS line . I don't see myself purchasing alot of these though . I'm genuinly happy with what SS has already put out and
with Boba , Grievous, and the New Vader already coming out next year there is only so much I can afford and have only so much room. I hope SS still plans on producing main human characters . They proved that they can put out good Han and Lule headscuplts with the Stormtrooper Disguise figures.

I can see Dooku being one of the next couple figures HT does since Grievous is about to be shown.

I may be in the minority, but I'd rather just have a Sideshow version of Dooku. Generally their "old guy" figures have been badass... and Dooku is one I probably would not want to spend an extra $50 on to get HT quality.

So i hope this comes with his X-wing gear. (course that would cancel out SS's planned figure, so i wonder if there's a deal in place not to)

Vader Helmet?
Severed hand is probably gonna happen
Maybe a sweaty sculpt?

Same here. I would be more than happy with what Sideshow could do, and I'd also prefer that he be consistent with the other older characters. Same with Tarkin.

If Hot Toys stuck to the young heroes, they'd be even with each other and I would see no issue. But I have no intention of replacing Ben Kenobi or any of my Palpatines.

What??? :lol :rotfl :lol

That's where I'm at on it as well... younger key characters would do well with a HT upgrade.

Man, I really have mixed emotions about this whole Hot Toys thing. While I am excited to see what they will do with the line, and I am sure it will be fabulous, there's no way I can afford it. I can't justify replacing figures I already own, like Bespin Luke, no matter how good they are.

Pretty sure I would pick up a Bespin Han though, as SS's was pretty much the only figure I was really dissapointed in. How cool would a DX ESB Han be! They could include his snow suit and cover the whole movie.

Other than that, it would have to be only new characters, like Chewie or the droids, for me.

I pretty much feel the same way , I don't see myself purchasing to many of the colLaboration figures . Just my favorite versions of the characters like Bespin Luke , ANH Han , and Leah and they would not replace what I already own .
