Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Thank you much! It's the best 210+ dollars I've ever spent on "toys". I'm not even worried. This one's for you Chris. Anybody else get to thinkin about him after this?:

Breaks me up a little. Can't forget you, Mr. Reeve.

About the nitpicking; Hot Toys might be the only company that goes through as much trouble, making adjustments based off of criticism, to get a likeness just right. These guys are true artists. Superman couldn't be in better hands.

Totally agree with you, glad a donation is being made to the Reeve foundation means so much more than a collectible now to so many people and may i just say as per your av.......

"That'll be me i've been swimming in raw sewage.... I LOVE IT...!"

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

How about Christopher Reeve in his wheelchair for the M Icon line? HT released figures of Bruce Lee from his everyday life, and I think that a Reeve figure as a tribute, would showcase the true reason that we all believe he could've been Superman. Christopher Reeve the actor inspired millions, but Christopher Reeve the man truly made a difference. I honestly can't see it as being aesthetically any different from the Godfather or the Bruce Lee figures that HT has made.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I don't get how it's maudlin, the man helped bring a lot of attention to a problem that most didn't really pay attention to before. If having admiration for a man who made a difference is wrong, then what's right?:dunno

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

The main differences to me appear to be thicker eyebrows, vertically wider eyes, the tapering of the neck as it goes into the head gotten rid of, a more squared off jaw and a bigger distance between his bottom lip and the beginning of his....chin-crease.. if you'd call it that.

Lips are also longer and hairline is also adjusted slightly

Can you drop the whole tweaking thing already? This thread was just starting to move along.

Uh no. I'll say what I please and when I please, thanks. :dunno

If you don't want to take part in this discussion, noone's forcing you.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Sorry but I find this maudlin attachment to Reeve almost more disturbing than the reluctance to accept that the sculpt may perhaps need tweaking.

The same could be said for the rectally cramped's unending need to seek 100% perfection in $200 dolls. :huh

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Pardon me, Mister Fussypants, no need to get so grumpy. We're all friends here, I was just saying that this entire thread has devolved into a bunch of arguing. Why can't it just be a bunch of collectors sitting back and talking about what a cool hobby we have?

I have no problem with that. My original post was just listning the areas where that particular manip had made changes to the original, which the previous poster had missed out on. If you didn't want the thread to continue in that direction, you shouldn't have said anything at all.

Anyway, carry on - i'd like this thread to get a little more positive too :peace

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I just find that all of the arguments, and photoshops and criticisms are keeping us from discussing any other aspects of the figure, ya know?

Fair enough. Sooooo...

What else do we discuss? :rotfl

Oh yeah - do we know if the base is lightup yet?

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I think it does, the Sideshow specs say that it does, but the specs that HT released only described it as "detailed."

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Yeah that is curious. Maybe it is intended to be but the proto we have pics of does not have the functionality yet

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

oh GOD if HT make a fig of Nuclear Man...

Knowing them though we may see Nuclear Man but no Luthor or Zod! Their decisions are truly baffling at times
