Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

The sculpt is as good as your gonna get, nothing is 100% so why even waste time in making dumb corrections that nobody cares about. Wish somebody would start a new thread were they can post meaningless photoshops of Superman and Indy.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Hoping Hot Toys includes 2 capes. Poseable and non-poseable cape.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I bet there already working on a DX Clark Kent & Superman Epic. I need this figure now!! Will sideshow have the pre-order up by the morning?>

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

It would've been cool if they had shown Supes and '89 Bats at the same time.

...But then I think this forum would implode right off of the internet.

Just one note:

The likeness was approved by Dana. Nuff said.

On to the P.O. :yess:

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I have a perfect likeness of Indiana Jones from Sideshow and a perfect likeness of Arnold Schwarzenegger from Hot Toys. It's not too much to demand perfection for the price we're paying, especially on a character who has SO many versions that the resemblance to the particular actor it's modeled after is exceedingly important to distinguish it. What we're getting here is the answer to the question What if Christopher Reeve was half-Asian? Anyone who compares the two pictures below has to be delusional or blind to believe that the eyes can't be improved. Let's not confuse "it's an extremely lifelike likeness" with "it's an extremely accurate likeness." I believe that they probably will improve it but it would certainly help if people spoke with a unified voice that it needed improvement instead of settling for less than perfection at this premium price. As someone who thinks the movie is one of the most important American films of all time and who thinks Christopher Reeve's casting in the role was more significant than the forthcoming second coming of Jesus, I will continue asking for better than what we've been shown so far.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

You know what guys, I hate to be nitpicky, but Christopher Reeve actually moved in the movie -he flew in the sky and everything. But from what I can see of these pics, he doesn't look like he moves, or flies or anything. He looks like an action figure that you have to pose and futz, and if you want a different pose you have to move his little arms and legs. Superman even talked - does this figure talk? NO.

This is fail Hot Toys, just fail.

Umm, you do realize she passed away 5 years ago, right?

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I don't see anything different enough to praise that. You wasted your time. :huh

One looks a whole lot like Reeve and one is slightly recognizable as Reeve-esque. That's the difference. Maybe you didn't take enough time to really take a close look?

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

best figure ever

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Yeah, and the Mattel figure's good enough so why are they even making this? It's not like these things have to be perfect, right? They're just toys, after all, right? No reason to have any standards or expect them to capture an actor's likeness just because they've done it in the past. That was just a bonus. As long as it looks sort of like some kind of Superman, we're all good here, right?

I don't think HT will miss your non-purchase.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I doubt he can fold his arms otherwise there would be a pic, minor nit...

Anyone know the height of the fig? Reeve was like 6'4" and with the new body I bet it's taller.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Forum Post: "This doesn't look anything like Christopher Reeve!"

Reality: "I don't have any room for this since my bedroom is already packed with McFarlane and 18" Neca Toys! So I MUST hate it!"
