Even with more photos I'm still not sold. We need to see the revised one. It'd be nice if another sculptor had a crack too then we could judge which we thought was best.

An additional sculpt by another sculptor, making a total of two heads, might go some way to justifying the cost, but even so it wouldn't look $250 / £200+ worth or figure.

I wasn't thinking of an extra head, just one to replace the current one if Arnie still can't crack it.

I know, but I was thinking of ways they could start justifying the cost! :)

Imagine having the choice of Arnie's sculpt and a Trevor Grove. That would help to allay people's fears about this DX. A DX ought to have two heads, and the chance to make two complete figures with the purchase of another body.

With the Joker I was able to make two figures by spending another £25: so each one only cost £77.50 delivered, and that doesn't sound so bad.

That'd never happen, though 2 Trevor sculpts would be great. they should have a beaten up one.

Calls to elongate the head aren't going to help the sculpt. If you take a look at the photo of Ford his head is actually quite square. That's actually what's missing in this - he has no square jaw. With eyebrows as furrowed as he's been given, Ford's muscles in his jaw would have been tightly clenched, giving him an even more "boxy" shape to his head. The sculptor just doesn't seem to be tying all aspects of the sculpt together, instead giving us a random assortment of Ford's expressions all at once.

Harrison Ford is undoubtably a good actor, but he's in many ways a predictable, conventional one. He has standard expressions that he returns to time after time, and at no point has he ever had so much tension in his eyes without echoing it in his jaw muscles.

Sadly, that won't happen either. At least not with this release.

There's no denying that Arne is an amazing sculptor, but whether he can capture the essence of Harry's Indy is another question.

It would be helpful to know/see examples of his other work based on real people.

Yes, I guess that's the art of capturing the essence of the actor and the character. If I'm forcing myself to see Harrison Ford in the sculpt, it's obvious to me that the essence isn't there yet. It's a gut reaction.

Arnie Kim did all of Enterbay's Bruce Lee figures. I have his Fist of Fury sculpt and it is amazing. He can nail sculpts when he wants to, it just seems that Harrison Ford is eluding him right now.

CHEERS!

I have faith that Arnie can do it. I feel this was rushed. Now with the demand and time, he can nail it. It's becoming my number one most wanted this year.

I usually get all amped up when they start taking pre-orders, but not this time. I was never in love with the sculpt, but I went with it. But for $220 - $250 you shouldn't have a single complaint imo.

We'll see, why rush? If we know we're getting something good we should be prepared to wait.

Sideshow's probably laughing right now. We all trashed them for HT but now they're saying $90 wasn't so bad was it?

That it wasn't, we're still getting mileage out of that figure even now. HT figures seem so complete, there doesn't seem to be much to do once you've taken them out of the box and posed them.

The SSC one was the first complete Indy that I had. I bashed all the others out of bits. Yeah, I had the Relic Hunter, but that was never truly Indy.

CHEERS!

i think i'll remain happy with my SSC Indy for now.
Yeah, HT's looks cool, but considering it's HT, it didn't hit me as 'Indy' right away... that's usually a sign for me to hold off, even for a bit.

From the looks of his previous attempt, looks like Ford's always eluded him. :lol Though, I stand by my earlier statement that HT would have to be absolutely moronic to rush a sub par sculpt out on a figure to use as the focal display for a toy show. I think they think it's fine and have little faith that it will change. Again, so far all we've heard is they're looking into the idea of revising it which is exactly what Sideshow says when they don't want to come out and just admit, "no, this is what you're getting."

That's what makes this such a travesty. Sad thing is, HT's getting away with it. All the preorders give them more than the incentive to continue this product. Sideshow felt the sting with the Fraiser Mummy PF and canceled it due to a total lack of preorders on the exclusive because not only was the likeness bad but the character selection was poor. That's the message that needs to be sent to HT. Sadly with every HT fanboy on the planet having this preordered and most ____ talking those taking issue with it (including picking on grammar - which is usually the sign of a failed argument), again, there's no incentive for HT to go back to the drawing board.

...I didn't know the Fraiser Mummy PF got cancelled! I'll have to find that thread!

And yes, I think Sideshow has something to be proud of in their Indy. HT's costs almost 3 times what Sideshow's did (2.77 times to be exact), and despite the shortcomings, at least Sideshow's LOOKS like Ford (under the bad factory paint job, that is)! Another thing: yes, Sideshow needed a little work, but for $90, there was still some wiggle room with everyone's budgets to invest in a new jacket, paint job, whatever. Now we're supposed to spend $250 and STILL need to spend more $$$ on it to get it right?!?

The likeness of the sculpt still have plenty rooms to improve.
However will probably go for it. Pre-order price is around USD180 here in Singapore.
