Or it was covered up by Jayne...I mean Garber.

:lecture Yeah I'm surprised they didn't even mentioned the Task Force that Keys (Busey) was running for the tracking and capture mission. They were all slaughtered and everything was recorded in the "recon" trailer. It would've been cool if they at least mentioned an agency task force was tracking one, then when they attempted to capture the Predator they were all killed and only a lone police detective survived.

Since we're on the topic of the movie, does anyone know why they'd put the "Royce with multiple laser targets on him" in the trailer ? In the movie it wasn't like that at all. I thought that was pretty misleading since I didn't know any of the story before hand. I thought it was going to be an all out attack on them :dunno

"Want some candy?"

see at least in that scene it showed a lot of the preds character. the preds in Predators had zero character what so ever.

yea l though that was very misleading as well. more like lies in a way if you ask me.

It's one thing to promote and market something that is real. In this case there were lots and lots of lasers which is false advertizing leading people to beleive there were a lot of Preds.
advertising in general IS misleading. that's the point. anyway, the people who make the movies almost never make their trailers.

there is one marketing firm that makes trailers for just about every movie and they edit and manipulate the trailers to gain interest for the lowest common denominator for maximum exposure (sales).
clearly, it worked. but i went into the movie knowing there were 4 predators so it didn't bother me.

Well, if Danny Glover had Mr. Fishburne's role then we'd have a definite timeline.

It erases AvP and AvP-R. That's for sure. Predator 2? Not really. I mean...kinda but since I dont hate P2...I still let it count.

I realize you know you think your opinion counts as fact as far as whats cannon or whats not, but why or how does predators erase avp?

l loved P2. l would actually rather watch that one over P1. the pred was cooler looking, more violence and more screen time for the pred. and the hot LA back drop was awesome.

This.
Plus an awesome cast including Danny Glover, Gary Busey, and Bill Paxton. I enjoy Predator 2 just as much as Predator. The AvP movies personally have no redemming qualities.

Because the producer said it does and said the same thing about P2. Good enough "fact" for me. :dunno

Not what I was asking. What events in Predators make AVP impossible to happen? Plus when did the Producer ever say that any way? since when is he king of all things Predator?

The weird thing is, something changed in between the time of the movie being made/hyped up and when it was released regarding that. Because I remember RR saying Predators was supposed to be a direct sequel to the original Predator (disregarding Predator 2 and the AVP films). And then later that was changed and now it's officially a sequel to Predator and Predator 2. :lol

I also read that it was a prequal to all the Pred movies. lol

Can anyone tell by the weapons that are being used in it? Like Royce's gun?

I also love P2. Hell the P2 Pred is my favorite design wise. Plus the scene where you see King Willy's screaming decapitated head is just so funny. And who didn't like seeing all the other Preds at the end?

This movie doesnt erase anything. No matter how hard you wish, the previous movies were still made and this movie has no right to say "IM THE TRUE SEQUEL DUUUH".
P2 still happened. AvP still happened. AvPR still happened. Plus, none of these movies´ plots have nothing to to do with the one of Predators.

End so story. Goodbye.

I believe it was stated in those little blurbs Rodriguez was doing while the film was in post, stating that it would be a direct sequel to the first film. And it doesn't make him the "king of all things predator" so much as give the viewer an understanding of where this film fits. It's somewhere in the Predators thread. Feel free to look it up. :lol

You must enjoy living in Neverneverland with Peter Pan. :cuckoo:

I'm not wishing anything. Merely reiterating what was said by the Producer who did what Brian Singer did with Superman Returns in making a direct sequel to a previous entry and ignoring later sequels. But you go ahead and continue trolling all things anti-Predators. I'll gladly keep reporting it. :lol

Im confused I thought we all knew that P1 and Predators were definately in the same universe and predators was infact a sequel that acknowledged the original
