TSC rex. Yah, I know what you're thinking. They shoulda put an articulated jaw in that. ARGH. annoys me.

Nope, didn't get Peas in the Pod nor did I get Mr. Pricklepants. Both are sold at Disney Store as plush toys that are relatively close in scale.

That actually stop me from buying him... Such a bad decision and I won't accept production costs, not at his RRP & production numbers! :gah:

FAIL!

Hey guys wonder if a could get some clarification on something: I know the TSC Buzz seems to be the most accurate one compared to what is seen on screen, but does the same apply for the TSC woody? I am have trouble picking out the differences between the TSC Woody and the others, besides to price tag. Thanks for any advice here. :dunno:dunno
The TSC Woody is by far the closest to his screen appearance. Here are some of the differences that stand out:

  1. The band around his hat is painted a darker color
  2. The lacing on his hat is real, not molded plastic
  3. The paint on his hair has the same highlights added as the screen version
  4. The buttons on his shirt have more texture (the non-TSC versions have flat buttons)
The TSC Woody also has a gold belt buckle and spurs, while the non-TSC versions are yellow. There is some debate about how accurate this is, since the on-screen appearance is somewhere in between.

If you can afford it, definitely go for the TSC Woody.

thanks for the tip robodad. I figured that would be the case, but I wanted to ask here before I go drop dough on one. I am off on small car shopping road trip today, so maybe I'll get woody and buzz as a reward to myself for all of the hassle. :yess:

Peas and Pricklepants added. They are pretty-close to scale, even if a few details are off like the peas color.

Definitely get woody mate, it brightens up any room or collection/ Such an awesome piece!

Your custom parts look great. In particular, the eyes are fantastic!

Unfortunately, the stock ears, nose, mustache and arms are still way off from "screen-accuracy". Do you plan to sculpt your own versions of those?

If you look at both side to side, they appear to be very similar but have minor differences. Woody's hat is a pretty good example. The TSC version has the thread weaving in and out of his hat on the brim. The cheaper versions have the thread sculpted on.

He also has fewer sayings, less of a back and forth, and cheaper accessories (like his belt buckle and spurs and badge are of cheaper plastic).

Here's a question for those who picked up Barbie & Ken.

This is the version I've been seeing in the stores:

But THIS is a version that I would actually buy:

Has anyone come across the version shown in the EntertainmentEarth link?

kinda late to the game here, can anyone tell me what's the difference between tsc buzz lightyear and blast off buzz lightyear? Is there major difference in articulation? or is the difference is on the amount of talking feature and the package?

This link should answer most, if not all your questions:

In summary, Blast Off Buzz has lights and sound effects on his backpack (not film accurate). It also probably has less sayings and possibly a non-opening wrist communicator (on left arm).

You do have to put him under a bright light to get his green trim to really glow - although I actually think that the glow in the dark paint was better on the 95 Buzz - mine still glows brightly at night today, even without exposure to a close, bright light.

did a really quick in-store comparo at target. The TSC buzz definitely has more bells and whistle than the blast off Buzz. From what I can see TSC buzz has more articulation in the hands (individual movable finger and thumb vs fixed thumb)and there are better small details like the hinge for the glass helmet.
