I just got this in the mail. SS makes a great armored figure, but as for the Sandtroopers I think that dropped the ball on the paint apps. So I thought it would be cool to post some pics of my progress with the repaint and mod. I'm going to bend in the chest and back plate to fit the figure better. Extended the neck adapter so he doesn't have that no neck look. Repaint the armor and back pack, and finally I'm going to make a gun holster for the blaster. I did this already for the other Sandtrooper and it came out looking good. I'm not sure if you can tell in the pics but SS paint apps looks much yellower then the repaint. I think its going to look much better once I'm done. And if you did a repaint please feel free to post pics and or ideas.

Tonight I'll bend the chest and back plate, extend the neck adapter, and strip some of the armor. And if any joints are loose I'll tighten them up. I'll post some pics later.

Hey lopie did u respray him or did you use a nail polish remover or something? I used nail polish remover and its crap :monkey2

Thanks for the positive feedback guys. It means a lot especially when it comes from the lord and master Snow. :hi5:

I used alcohol to remove the sand color, then I used alcohol with a little bit of acetone mix. More alcohol then acetone. I used alcohol only on the helmet then I use the mixture to remove the darker brown on the chest plate. I only did half of the helmet to show you the color difference. Now be careful if your going to use acetone like I said just a little bit of acetone that stuff will remove paint fast.

Here is what I did for the neck extension, I cut it then I drilled a hole in both halves. Place a rod in both halves and hot glue them together and you're done. I was also able to strip all the armor and bend the chest plate. I'll do some painting tomorrow. Some comparison shots.

Finally got this thing done. I weathered the armor, gun, and backpack. I also made a gun holster for the blaster.
