Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

You're all much too kind! I appreciate it, though! I hope she'll paint up nicely and make a cool figure!

I've molded the sculpt to make my master resin version, but I need to get some more mold rubber before I can make the final molds. She should still be ready in a week or so.

Thanks again for the support! Wash and Inara should trickle out later in the year, providing I can make time to work on them here and there.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Right on Trev. She's perfect. I've had a crush on Jewel Staite since the first episode of Firefly. I have her bash ready for her sculpt. Going to the seamstress today to pick up her coveralls with the new zipper as per ShadowX81's suggestion. Also Shad, I'm taking Washes outfit to that seamstress to be altered. Thanks Freaks for all your suggestions and help, you're making my figures just that much better and I appreciate it.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

beautiful Jayne paintup boot25!!

Josh- I'm flattered! All I can think while looking at my initial casting of Kaylee is, "man, I can't wait to see a Small Studios paintup of this." So thanks for helping keep my excited for these projects just by doing what you do!

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Yeah, I just send money for a Mal headsculpt! :chew
I look forward to receiving it!

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Will kaylee fit normal 1/6 female bodies? Little concerned about her hair being solid and all.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

dragonsleeper- I did sculpt her hair to leave room at the shoulder, but this was still when I was doing heads on the Buck (yes, she was started a long time ago)

Can you suggest some bodies that I should buy that you guys would be using. Then I can attach some of my initial castings to better show how it fits. Depending on what body you use, you may have to dremel away some of the inside of the hair, but it shouldn't require a lot of extra work. The head won't be incredibly mobile anyway you do it, but I didn't want to sacrifice the sculpt for mobility in this instance, considering the custom nature of the project.

I appreciate the question, and I'm glad you brought it up, as it's something that everyone needs to know! I'll buy some figure bodies to try it all out on once I get some suggestions.

Thanks all!

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

I'm using female HT true types for Kaylee and Inara, reg male for wash, AA male for Book and slim for Simon.
