I wasn't sure about ordering it but once I saw that you did the painting, I ordered the exclusive in the hope that the factory paint job will resemble yours

I think you guys will be very happy with this one. The exclusive is the way to go even if you dont use the extra head the sculpt is really nice in person. Alot of detail and expressive.

So could you tell us a bit more about the project? Like when did you actually paint Beachhead? Was it last month or 6 months ago? Have you worked on more stuff since? More info please!

I cant give to much away . I did paint both the original and exclusive as well as his weapons. It was a real treat to be part of the creation. Alot went into BH i was just a small part of the process. There may be a chance you could see more from me down the line...possibly...maybe

So does this mean they will actually try to replicate what you are able to do... or is the proto now going to be even further from the final product

That is the plan. Im really looking forward to the production peices.

Wonderful paint! I knew something looked familiar about the look and feel of the eyes and flesh tones on Beach Head's face, but I couldn't place it.

Josh, I just finished going back through some of the early pages of this thread. I must say it's astonishing how far you've improved in just two short years. Really incredible.

Ok guys since this is finally a go i am proud to present GI Joe member Beach Head. I was very happy i had a chance to paint this guy up for Sideshow. More pics can be seen on the official website. You guys will not be dissapointed in this figure. I had a chance to paint both sculpts as well as all his gear. Take it from me ,as a fan this is the one to have!

AWESOME Josh! Congrats on the Beachhead paint-up. Looks FANTASTIC. I don't collect Joe, but I'm excited to see some other SS gigs you have lined up (Star Wars? Indy?...)

You mean SS doesn't give you a 'complimentary one' considering you actually WORKED on it???!!!

Seriously though, you should talk to them. I know Trevor Grove got sent a KOTCS Indiana Jones PF since he did the sculpt...so surely you should be able to get an 'exclusive' Beachhead for the work you did on it.

Yeah Josh I thought it was pretty standard to get the figure you worked on. Yeah Andy and Trev were sculptors, but the paint is just as important because even the best HT sculpt can be ruined by bad painting. You should definately ask and find out.

But why didn't you order immediately anyway?
