Hi there, I just got my first Hot Toys figure - Pvt Drake - and have been looking around this forum a bit. I noticed a few of you use Armor-all on some of your figures due to rubber issues. Is this something I should be doing on Drake? His arms look like they're constructed out of rubber (I haven't yet opened him). For that matter, I also have the 1/18 Alien Queen from the AVP snap-kits, and she's got a rubber neck. Should I do it on her as well?

I don't know anything about Armor-all whatsoever, now that I think of it. I'm aware of the product but never used it. Is it just a clear spray? What exactly does it do?

Thanks in advance!

I won't use Armor All on any rubber. Just look what it does to your tires and dash in the long run. turns tires brown and crack dash. Disolved a G.I. Joe scub suit.

heh. Noob Armor. :lol

this is noob armor.....:lol

Guess I'm a noob then.

Didn't use Armor-all on my first (AVP) alien, and the result was that it fell apart. The seams opened up and the rubber became very dry and brittle looking.

Now I use it one every 2-3 months and the aliens look better than new.
It's not like I saturate it or anything. Just enough to block out the elements.

It has been working fine for me thus far. FYI if Armor-all causes damage to your stuff, you should be able to get them to replace it for you. Well, at least pay for it.

It clearly states:
"Cleans away dust and debris"
"Renews and revitalises vinyl, rubber & plastics"
"100% satisfaction guaranteed...Armor-All absolutely guarantees its products will meet or exceed your highest standards".

So, if Armor-all damages your rubber, vinyl, etc while you're using it as directed, then you should qualify for reimbursement.

This is the only place I would put Armor All
