People don’t understand at all, but I get it. It was two pairs for $100 each + 5% PayPal fee & shipping from across the world. Everything you purchase from custom artists adds in a 5% PayPal fee.

When Inart and JND announced they were coming in to the 1/6 world, I felt like we had all just won the lottery.

The way it’s shaping up, we’re now each paying upwards of a grand for the chance to win a decent $500 figure.

It’s a strange world we live in.

Just also gotta say the basic version A is £700 that's nuts! The silicone gimmick is wasted here the inart deluxe set was like £850 look at what you got.

JND can shove this especially with their attitude and products! 😂

That's fair in terms of what you see.

What I see is an assortment of cheap to cast plastic hands that won't be used and a wooden and die cast base that looks more tacky than anything, a long with a secondary head that isn't too dissimilar from the original but with a wonky face. Inart overcharged in the guise of getting a lot, in reality those things are so low cost to produce and you still got charged a lot, they put some magnets in the hands, how is that worth 1000 quid?

With JND you can at least argue the materials and technology are worth the price for what you get. Silicone casting is more expensive, glass eyes with magnets are more expensive, actual rooted hair is more expensive, that can't be argued with in terms of material and process cost.

A lot of accessories doesn't really equate to value of worth.

How dare us spend $1K on IA rooted and have the audacity to spend $1700 for another Joker to have a better sculpt. What an idiot. To many we’re idiots even spending money on dolls lol. Screw JND for putting out a prototype that looks better that includes less accessories for more! Aka I’m stung since I just spend so much on IA. The theme of this thread lol.

Yeah that is pretty much the theme.

Doesn't like technology or materials or the figure in general > doesn't like price of object they don't like and already talked about > doesn't like that other people think it's better than their purchases > doesn't like that those people actually paid for it because they see the value in it > acts personally hurt by all of this and starts lashing out and trolling the thread > becomes hypocrites in trying to justify the high price of what they spent by saying everything it in is worth it to them

Heath Ledger 1/6 collecting, the buck stopped at what they deem to be the best worth of purchase, because they paid a high price for what they liked now the market is saturated to them, the quality is bad for the price etc.

I don't know who they're trying to convince... Themselves?

I'm just glad the smiling headsculpt doesn't really correspond to any particularly memorable moment from the movie.

If JND had actually used a reference point for that instead of merely winging it, I may have been suckered in for a set B. Don't need those dogs or the chair though.

A clear victory for JND in my eyes is their display base. It reeks of class. I wonder how much of it will be magnetised compaed to InArt's?

I also don't beleive there's been any talk of the body JND will presumably have built from scratch.
Will they be adhering to true 1/6 scale?
Will they add additional ratchets?
Will the ankles go all 'Smooth Criminal' on us like another certain someone?

It’s not- just like it definitely isn’t free from Kit either. A generic estimate is just baked into the price.

I went through checkout at KG to see their shipping quotes and factored in the cheapest option.

Still 10% cheaper.
I'd rather spend 10% and deal with Kit if there's any issue instead of dealing with KG's after sale service.

I have the Jazzinc 2022 & 1989 Batmobiles on order so I'm not about to throw stones when it comes to how much people spend on these collectibles, but I do look at the $1K price for JND's Type A and wonder where the relative value is for that price. I have the InArt deluxe Aragorn figure on order and that was just under $500 with an outfit comparable in complexity to this and accessories that probably exceed it. Granted that's not an apples to apples comparison but assuming the InArt Joker was similarly priced (I didn't order it) this does appear to be an example of diminishing returns.

I'll shift my mentallity in that direction. Kit definitely does take care of us when it matters most.
Yup, KG customer service is abismal, i wouldn't trust them with a figure/figure set that expensive.
I only order from them if i don't have any other choices.

Kit is always my first option.

I'm tempted by the JND Joker (single) but i already have so many Heath figures already... I just bought a custom Yixie sculpt 1 month ago and one Dean Tolliver painted by Yuan 2 months ago, i should be satisfied already.
But i still want that new one, just like someone else said, we're like drug addicts.

It's really not reasonnable... 😭

Everything is diminishing returns in today’s market though. Nothing you ever purchase tends to hold value anymore, even if it’s never used. Buy it if you deem it’s worth it, if it isn’t to you, move on and put that money elsewhere. If you don’t fancy the food are you going to endlessly write yelp reviews or will you simply find another spot to dine?
