It's somewhat acknowledged within the show that she's ahead of her years when Obi-Wan rhetorically asks how old she is. Then factor in she's the daughter of a child Queen/young adult Senator and a prophesied Jedi ''chosen one''.....might aswell allow it.
Plus she can 'fly'...

"May the farce be with you..."

"The farce is strong with this one" applies to TBOBF and parts of OWK.

Sometimes Star Wars is a live action Lego movie, which you know isn't meant to be taken seriously. At other times necks are getting snapped, people strung up or pulled through fire.

Yes that child murder really got me. I was very surprised. Vader truly is someone you don’t want to cross . He will kill you just for being there.
This still haunts me.

Like, I’m not surprised. Vader’s big “line crossed” moment was killing a bunch of defenseless kids in Episode 3.

But this hit different. Where Vader back then seemed reluctant and even cried over it, he justified it as necessary.

This… wasn’t. It was just straight up pointless slaughter. Killing a kid who posed zero threat, who wasn’t Force-sensitive, who wasn’t on the side of the Jedi, who just wanted to check up on his dad. Not because he was told to do it. Just because he WANTED to do it.

Episode 3 even kept that slaughter off-screen. This didn’t shy away.

Vader has been almost neutered over the decades from over exposure. It was like how they poked fun at Freddy Krueger in Wes Craven’s New Nightmare by saying every kid knew who he was and wasn’t afraid. He’s got toys and LEGO sets and funny plush dolls and is in kiddie Golden Books.

And this episode was like a splash of cold water to remind folks he’s not just a villain in Star Wars. He’s THE villain of Star Wars. The one who gets his hands dirty in the blood of children and delights in slow, torturous deaths. Emotionally detached from the pointless cruelty of it all.

I have issues with some of this episodes pacing and editing (how the heck did that secret tunnel work with nobody crossing paths?!), but this was easily the scariest version of Vader ever, including the Rogue One scene.

Yes I was not only surprised but very freaked out. I couldn’t believe Disney went so far as to do that but it just goes to show Vader is very ruthless and that’s was shown well here.

I don't think that's a good thing. Make him scary, sure, but not by having him kill children. (I'm taking your and Jye's word that it was a child. I didn't think it was when I watched the episode and I haven't rewatched it.)

It was a terrible decision by Lucas in the PT and I'm surprised Disney has doubled down on it.

Why now would anyone want to see a man like this ''redeemed'' as opposed to just killed outright for his crimes?

Yes I know he allowed and oversaw the destruction of an entire populated planet but the cruelty entailed in the personal up close slaughter of children nevertheless makes it that much harder to buy that this guy ''has good in him'' and warrants anything other than being put down.

Well I mean he wasn’t a youngling but he definitely was under 18 so legally not an adult so lets just say adolescent…in other words a kid but I prefer child it just sounds more horrible than kid but not as horrific as youngling you keeping up with me here lol

Honestly after Alderaan I really don’t think younglings and adolescents makes him even more of a monster because Alderaan had millions if not billions of children wiped out.

Showing him taking out a small group up close and personal just proved that he is capable of taking out an entire planet once his power was the size of the Empire.

So yeah you either accept his redemption or you think Luke is an idiot who should’ve stuck to being an atheist lol

Wait I don’t know why I brought that up my bad lol

Everyone is too distracted to notice near infant Leila out running adults, out smarting adults, giving orders to adults, carrying on conversation at an unrealistic adult level? She might be the worst character of the Disney star wars era.
I have known more than a few kids in my time who talk just like "near infant Leia".

It was always a complicated subject.

Vader in the OT oversees millions of kids vaporized. He orchestrated his half-brother’s death. He tortures Han just for fun (“they didn’t even ask me any questions…”). He knows who his son is, and rather than be overjoyed his child survived, he slices his hand off then does nothing to stop him from attempting to jump to his death. He later learns Leia is his daughter and goads Luke saying he could always just kill him and corrupt her instead.

Then the PT come along Anakin was butchering kids by Episode 2. And that’s when he was the “good” version…

I don’t have a problem with Vader’s villainy or his redemption. …but in hindsight, the overly optimistic ending of Episode 6 doesn’t work so well in the whole saga’s context.

Obviously he wasn't as young as the younglings in the temple but he was definitely a teenager.

I never hated the moral quandary of Anakin killing children, what always annoyed me is that he should have had bigger fish to fry in that moment. It was like the clones were doing all the heavy lifting in Order 66 and Anakin was just doing clean up work on the easy targets. That's what was the lamest part to me. I would have preferred that the clones took out the kids while Anakin killing full fledged Knights and Masters.

I dislike Reva and the other Inquisitors equally. There is nothing about them that even suggests "authentic SW" to me....they reek of fan-fic and derivative, lazy basic cable sci-fi.

I'll always be old school about SW. Vader and Palpatine were the only Sith left. After Obi-Wan and Yoda died, Luke truly was the last Jedi. There weren't dozens of Jedi running around under the radar on the freaking "Underground Railroad" and you sure as **** can't just "turn off the Force."

It's a part of you. It flows through you. Once you're open to it, there's no going back. You can suppress the effects a bit by controlling your FEELINGS, but you don't "turn it off" or "forget how to use it." You wouldn't strain like you're taking a giant **** just by catching a tiny girl in the air for the first time in ten years. Stupid.

Anyway, back to the Inquisitors.

I think that scene where Reva stomps into the cheap conference room and the three of them bicker back and forth with embarrassing dialogue is probably the worst scene so far.

It's just embarrassing. I cringed watching it. Can you imagine being so excited to be on a SW project and then they dress you in a lousy stretchy black shirt and dumb cape flapping behind you? I would be crestfallen. I'd just tell them I changed my mind and want out.
