I'm probably just going to cash in my reward points and stop partaking in Spooktacular and buying from Sideshow altogether after this year. The previous years' Spooktaculars were more convenient - get an email notification, save Reward Points and done. Now it's too stressful and I found that I couldn't enjoy Halloween this year because I felt the need to be tied to my computer or phone to wait for livestreams and Facebook posts. I don't like that.

I'd shop more at Sideshow if shipping and taxes were cheaper. This year I bought ThreeZero's Jon Snow and paid $35.59 for taxes and shipping at Sideshow whereas taxes and shipping at BBTS is only $15.50. Man I miss the no tax free shipping days at Sideshow.

Well, considering how much these things cost, I think that should probably be rich Europeans.

Besides, I reckon cost of healthcare in the US more than offsets the relatively low sales taxes.

I got $29 total. Not bad given I only installed the Tapatalk app evening of Oct 27 so I missed all the codes before then. Now the question is do I use it for IM Mk 85 or Mk 85 BD.

What's the secret? I subscribed to this and the NO BANTER threads and also used Tapatalk. Still I wasn't notified for a large amount of these codes (especially at the end 30-31st).

The FB messenger code group definitely helps, although it did seem like Tapatalk worked pretty well this time around - don't think there was a code where I didn't get multiple Tapatalk notifications from both threads. In the past it's sometimes been a bit more hit and miss. I was also watching most of the shows and livestreams which helped with those more limited $2 daily wrap-up codes. I have notifications enabled for most of Sideshow's numerous social media accounts, but the FB code group was quick with posting codes as soon as they dropped. That said, the No Banter thread was fast too thanks to the efforts of everyone posting there. I'd be curious to know if it was possible to snag every code just from the No Banter notifications, but those more limited codes daily wrap-up codes were gone almost as soon as they were posted and even the people watching were missing out.

The window with some of the codes was incredibly brief as so many people are competing for them now. Really taken the fun out of it all and made it a frustrating and stressful experience.

Simple, your phone didn't get notified soon enough is because your phone's crowded with too many apps notification. Try to disable other apps from using notification like facebook, twitter, instagram, etc until you can get notified quickly from tapa

Hmmmm the long debated question between BD or not. Im not in the market for mk 85 but I would say this.
Mk 85 if it?s your only IM, but BD if you already have a few IM. Especially Mark L with mark 85 BD would be incredible.

I know you shouldnt buy these things for the resale value, but I think its interesting subject. Personally, I think die hard collectors are probably going to get both.

So far in 2020, SS has given out reward codes during the following events:

1. Birthday Extravaganza in March
2. Sideshow Con in July (basically their SDCC replacement)
3. Sideshow New York Con in early October (basically their NYCC replacement)
4. Spooktacular in late October

As posted above, you can now register for Geeksgiving 2020, which runs from November 19-26. They had a "Holiday Party" on December 23, 2019 where they gave out one five minute $5 reward code in a livestream, but who knows if they'll do that or anything else that involves reward codes after Geeksgiving ends on November 26.

It appears that at least a few of you appreciate my SS RP event recaps, so here's one for Spooktacular 2020!

FYI- this recap only includes the codes given out on SS's social media channels and in their videos, so it does NOT include any codes that were randomly emailed to people. Also, this recap does NOT include any of the higher value ($10, $20, or $100) and extremely limited (10 or less redemptions available) The Bossy Boss Boss codes given out during the Spooktacular Daily Wrap-up videos streamed live in the Let Your Geek Side Show Facebook group.

Also, for some of the codes given out during some of their live stream videos, no one on the stream said how many redemptions were available. However, almost every time a redemption amount was listed for a code (besides the higher value and extremely limited The Bossy Boss Boss codes and a couple "for stream only" codes given by The Bossy Boss Boss during Daily Wrap-Up livestreams), the limit was 2,000 redemptions. So, for the purposes of this recap, I assumed that anytime SS didn't tell us how many redemptions a code had available, it had 2,000 redemptions available.

In total, SS gave out 45 codes during this event, broken down like this:
-4 codes on Thursday the 22nd
-2 codes on Friday the 23rd
-5 codes on Saturday the 24th
-4 codes on Sunday the 25th
-5 codes on Monday the 26th
-5 codes on Tuesday the 27th
-6 codes on Wednesday the 28th
-4 codes on Thursday the 29th
-5 codes on Friday the 30th
-5 codes on Saturday the 31st

The 45 codes given out were worth a total of $85, broken down like this:
-17 codes worth $1
-18 codes worth $2
-9 codes worth $3
-1 code worth $5

For recent comparisons, SS gave out 24 codes worth $53 during their 2020 Sideshow New York Con event in early October and 17 codes worth $62 total during their 2020 Sideshow Con event in July. And during Spooktacular 2019, they gave out 40 codes worth a total of $76, so more codes worth more money in this event when compared to their two most recent events and this same event last year.

Instead of time limits on codes during this event, Sideshow continued to offer them with a limited amount of redemptions once they were released. Here's a breakdown of how many redemptions the 45 codes had during this event:
-1 code had 850 redemptions
-1 code had 1,000 redemptions
-1 code had 1,100 redemptions
-42 codes had 2,000 redemptions

The three codes that didn't have 2,000 redemptions available were released by The Bossy Boss Boss in the Daily Wrap-up streams and were intended to not be shared and only redeemed by the number of people currently watching the stream.

Similar to the recent Sideshow New York Con event, SS unfortunately posted these codes on MANY of their social media channels during this event. Here's a breakdown:
-7 codes posted onscreen or spoken during a video on the Let Your Geek Side Show Facebook group
-5 codes posted onscreen during a video on the primary Sideshow Collectibles Facebook page, on the Let Your Geek Side Show Facebook group, and on the Sideshow YouTube channel

Thanks to everyone here for sharing the codes during Spooktacular 2020! Hopefully SS gives out a bunch of codes during Geeksgiving 2020, which starts in just over two weeks!

According to the registration page for the event (https://www.sideshow.com/events/geeksgiving), the "majority of the event takes place in the Let Your Geek Sideshow Official Facebook Group" (which matches how it went last year). While I certainly am thankful that it appears SS will greatly reduce the places where they give out RP codes (it certainly will make tracking down all the codes and putting a recap together MUCH easier), limiting most of the codes to one place may make them harder to redeem if they keep them at 2,000 redemptions (since they'll be less spread around and everyone can just primarily focus on the LYGSS page and videos all week). I guess we'll find out soon, though!

I thought I'd have no more than $10 based on the first few days, but I managed to end up with $23 (no email codes for me). Not great given that there was $85 in total, but considering I was busy with work and often couldn't step away to check for code notifications, it's better than I expected. Not a fan of the redemption limits, but that seems to be the direction Sideshow's moving in, so it is what it is.
