Even though I wasn't crazy about the movies, I love a lot of the Dwarf designs. I would commit to buying several of them right now. Dwalin, Balin, Kili, Fili, Dain ...

Crowd funding is an interesting idea...

I would commit to buying those as well.
Love the character designs and considering the awesome job Asmus did on Thorin and Gimli it would be a shame to stop there.

McFarlane used Kickstarter for the Spawn figure a few months ago. Maybe Asmus could do the same with so of the figures they think might not be hot sellers.

To be honest, I'm more focused on LOTR than the Hobbit.
Designs aside, barely any of the characters struck a connection with me, unlike practically every major or secondary characters from Lord of the rings.
Maybe would pick up a Balin, Dain or Radagast, nothing else would I be willing to spend ?200 on.
Now my perfect line up for Lord of the rings is 2 thirds complete. For me personally there are 30 characters I'll buy without hesitation. I think there's around 10 unmade which I want..
Bilbo, Gandalf the White, Lurtz, Sauron, Treebeard, Denathor, Wormtongue, Gollum
Reissues of Ringwraith on steed, Eowyn & Morgul Lord.
After those anyone is a bonus

I?ll buy anything from LotR or the Hobbit. Love middle earth and the characters in it.

Let me bring it up again in the next design meeting.

Last time we concluded the full set of armor will be very expensive, if we can sell around 1500~2000+ pc like Gimli, or even Eomer or Theodin, then no problem,

But we have little faith in The Hobbit characters... We were so near to sign up for a Dwalin, but at the end... no.

The Hobbit characters are so hard to sell. (and most of the designs are hard to make too)

Totally understandable. I prefer Lord of the Rings figures over the Hobbit but Azog, any of the 13 dwarves or a Tauriel 2.0 would be day one preorders for me.

Typical for me I guess. Re LOTR - the films - I tend to lean more to "secondary" characters. Faramir in the book was a huge favorite; wasn't a fan of the film treatment so much - to me Faramir was a much deeper character than depicted and certainly was more feisty with his father. But ASMUS has done a great job so he is a pickup as soon as I get some funds.

Waiting on a Mirkwood (Hobbit) Legolas. Am getting Aragon as I'll get practically anything Rohan/Helm's Deep.

Crown Gandalf because - Gandalf. Happily I own V1 already. Mostly waiting on Timewalker or other to get some horses in - ordered 1 black horse for my Zorro Blitzway; and one white to represent Shadowfax. 1/6 horses are tough as the right breed - like a Friesian/Andalusian - never seems to get made (Shadowfax and Tornado).:(

I will probably have to add some mohair and fuss with manes and tails to fake it.:frank

Hello Asmus,

I have pre-ordered Gandalf the Grey (Crown series) from one Slovakia (Europe) shop. However, the shop did not receive any info from the supplier if the Asmus Toys Crown series display base with Hobbiton diorama comes with the figure ... Only description the shop received from supplier is this:

"Sideshow and Asmus Toys are proud to present the Gandalf the Grey Sixth Scale Figure! The most famous wizard joins Asmus Toys The Crown Series. Go on a journey with Gandalf the Grey today!"
Fans of The Lord of the Rings, don't miss your chance to add Gandalf the Grey to your collection!

Can you please give us some confirmation on how this diorama base is distributed? It is included inside the box with the figure or it is a separate box? I have contacted Asmus via Facebook messenger and the respond from your colleagues did not help me at all:

"It should be included but we did not make the limitation of how dealers sells it, so please check with the dealer you order from"

Some help would be great because otherwise I would be forced to purchase it from the US where the diorama base is shown in the description.

Thank you!

Know you are waiting for ASMUS but unless your dealer is in the habit of breaking into new (sealed) figures and selling parted out, think you are OK. If your dealer is doing that without permission, get another dealer.

The dio should be in the box, like Thranduil's base. Far as I know, there isn't 2 separate versions of the Crown Gandalf where u can get this figure cheaper, without the base.

Here is product listing from BBTS:
Box Contents
Gandalf figure
8 Hands
Pair of open hands
Pair of relaxed hands
Pair of weapon holding hands
Left finger pointing hand
Left reading gesture hand
Handmade fabric made wizard hat

Bue leather belt with pattern printing
Pair of handmade fabric boots
Traveling bag
Glamdring (with elvish printing)

I understand, thank you for your view.

If the diorama base is inside the original package, there should not be an issue as I can not imagine for the seller to open the original box and take out some items, I would return the item in second.

I was curious if the diorama base is not a standalone accessory in a separate box or maybe just exclusive to the US and Asia or something. Most of the sellers in my country do not know if the base is included and Asmus should be more clear about the figure description and what they include. I asked on the Facebook group and most people who pre-ordered the Gandalf did not even know it has this nice base with it ... The base is not shown on product photos and only shown at some convention booth.

Regards,
Waiss

Diorama should come in box, you should be good here. Also, ASMUS - you've been producing LOTR figures for years now. Where is Sauron?? What can you do with that?

It should, but reading Asmus response, it sounds like it's in a separate box.

It should be included but we did not make the limitation of how dealers sells it, so please check with the dealer you order from

To me that sounds like Asmus is including one diorama with each Gandalf the retailer ordered, as in they're shipping a case of 6 dioramas and a case of 6 Gandalfs, and they're assuming retailers will bundle and ship them as a set.

That's how ACI delivered the Ringwraith and the Weathertop 'diorama' to retailers.

Thank you!

The base will be packaged in the same box with the figure~
it will be quite a large box, something like Hot Toys' DX series

Eagerly waiting on a new sneak peak video. How will those pers work? I imagine the head is magnetic to avoid messing up the hair when rotating the eyes.

Oh! Awesome, I can't wait to have him in my collection. Gandalf might be my most beloved fantasy character.

I have also pre-ordered Gimli from US bigbadtoystore.com which have him up for pre-order now, for October release :)
Don't you by any chance know if that pre-order is part of your Gimli restock or they are leftover figures from the previous release? Please advise if I should keep the Gimli pre-order from bigbadtoystore.com or purchase him directly from your store once available (maybe you release a little bit updated figure?)

Thanks!
