I was recently at the Star Trek exhibit at The Henry Ford Museum, they has original uniforms of Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Uhura. The pants certainly looked black to me.

For us tos geeks this is one of the definitive spock postures. Can wait to get these reissues in hand ! Thank you nanjin
Yes. The re release KnS will use this body.

The body was originally designed to support QMx trek-line male characters.

It has 3 purposes and 1 objective, standardize the sizing of the uniforms in to Short/Reg/Tall to correctly reflect actual character height across all series (volume done at post production), free production from supply dependency, and enable varius iconic Trek postures, together they can provide production leverage in a long run.

It is bottom heavy with solid parts to provide a 40/60 weight distribution to lower center of gravity to help balance the figure in free standing posts.

All hands will be standardized and further improved their appearance.

Implementation should be done gradually over 2-3 figures to take the load off from high initial investment outlay (it would fund itself)

Now, it is just a simple body replacement. Maximize benefit and purposes couldnt be achieved.

I failed.

All in all, this is a body specially designed for Trek.

....and I forgot how many points of articulation.

The new bodies alone make the reissued Kirk Spock a must! I have all the originals but have POs in for these as well. Support Trek!

I may be tempted to pick up the new Kirk/Spock figures since it appears we may not be getting the green-wrap Kirk and the "Mirror, Mirror" Spock. Could use the older ones for customs of those two.

The 40/60 is misleading. This distribution was measured without head. With head is about 50/50 vs conventional 55/45.

With the new body, is there an adjustment for the six pack stomach Kirk has? Anything added to tone it down a bit.

I'm still gutted we're not getting those new sculpts we saw a while back. These original sculpts are nice but the newer ones were better.

Great. Right now or later?

And are the uniforms tailored differently or the same as original release?

at a Later date. Of course the uniforms need to be tailored according to this body.

nanjin, is QMX committed to 1/6 scale figures or are they getting out. I want DP Roberts but not if he is the only figure in the line, I'm guessing Firefly is a one and done at this point.

You have to ask them. They read this post from time to time.
