New Scale!

Sideshow's Legendary Scale Busts measure in at 1:2 scale. In this case, the company indicated that the Legendary Scale Figures won't necessarily correspond to that scale, but each piece "will share a similar physical size and proportion

There's no word on pricing or release date for any of these statues. But with many Premium Format Figures priced at $300 or more, it's a safe bet these statues will inch closer to $1000. Maybe now is a good time for that third mortgage.

____ing bad ass announcment. Not thrilled that it's Maul to kick things off, but can't wait to see what comes out of this. Paint apps are going to have to drastically improve for these.

Agreed on all points... all I can say is a Vader like this could be all kinds of epic!!!
 
Love this announcement!! Time to cancel the robo darth maul I have on order.

Something tells me these will be their own unique scale...between 1:2 and 1:3....
 
So tempting. But, not sure the pose works for this figure. I think maul should be more dynamic, but that is just personal preference.
 
From Greg's interview:

But I'd also expect that our Legendary Scale Gallery display of figures in approximately 1:2 scale will be the most photographed collection at the entire show. The Sideshow art team has gone to extraordinary lengths to create the absolute seminal representation of some classic characters and I'm thrilled to be showcasing these new pieces at the Con.

This was the size I was imagining when I read this announcement. Not sure if I want to venture down this road. I already have limited space with the 1:1 busts, PFs, 1/6 figures, and of course the lame stuff like couches, dressers, and tables.
