What MEGO toys did you have as a kid or still own?
Back in the Seventies, when I was a kid MEGO was THE king when it came to action figures. It seems they owned EVERY license in the world, yet they passed on Star Wars!!! . I remember the figures were made in Hong Kong and as a 7 year old from New Jersey , Hong Kong seemed SO FAR away , adding to the coolness of the figures. I had Batman, Robin, Superman, Shazam,Iron Man, Captain America, Spiderman, Kirk and Spock, Dukes of Hazard, 12” Superman, 12” Hulk, Starsky and Hutch , with car (which was ALL kinds of Cool!) I even had some little rascals and the Tin Man from Wizard of oz! I even had the Fonz ! What are your memories? Do you still own any? I wish I still had mine!

Re: What MEGO toys did you have as a kid or still own?
I didn't have many as a kid since I was born in 1978... still though I do remember at least owning the 3 3/4" Star Trek the Motion Picture figures. Currently I have a few Mego items on display:
Zira, Buckwheat, The Fonz, Spider-Man, Captain Kirk and The Gorn!!!

But I have to agree with you... Mego really had some awesome figures. Just checking out Mego Museum takes hours to get through all the content.

Re: What MEGO toys did you have as a kid or still own?
We only had a few, as my brother and I were more into the GI Joe Adventure Team than Mego at the time. And then came the Six Million Dollar Man figure, etc...
I remember having Batman, Robin, Kirk, Bones and two Fonzes; one for each of us. One of my neighbours had the Thing and the Hulk, so we'd often have little battles in the sandbox with our figures. I still remember how cool we thought it was that the Fonz had an articulated thumb for his "Ayyyyyy!" pose.
I also remember, even at 6 years old, thinking of how stupid his hands looked when the thumbs were folded down. Even back then, I was having issues with articulation vs. sculpt.

Yeah... but luckily the Fonz can live most of his life with the thumbs up pose. The only time I drop the thumbs down is if I have to pack him for moving

I forgot I did have the buckwheat figure as well. Unfortunately , I remember playing that he was saving Superman from some villain and he had to "touch a light bulb" to rescue him and his fingers melted! Oh the mind of a child!

Had lots of them back in the day, but none of them survived my childhood. I do have a large Spider-Man in my collection now.

Many a figure met a similar fate during my childhood. Toys were meant to be played with and by default f'd up
I love the Buckwheat figure though... such a random toy to have made
Although my favorite is the Gorn. 1) because its my all time favorite Star Trek alien and 2) because it is such a crappy figure. 100% resued parts from a POTA body, Marvel Lizard head (inexplicably cast in brown ) and a Klingon outfit

Spider-Man (I wish I knew how many I went through as a kid. Perhaps dozens? The shoulder would always seem to break... I know I had a couple 12" versions in there)
Hulk, Batman and Robin were the four I remember most vividly.
I also had Superman, Joker, Penguin and Iron Man... that I remember.

Re: What MEGO toys did you have as a kid or still own?
Mego really was great. I was born in '72 so Mego was everything until about 1980. I had a ton of stuff:
*** 8" Figures ***
- The Mummy, The Wolf-Man (or Werewolf)
-Starsky & Hutch,
-Planet of the Apes: Cornelius, General Ursus, Dr Zaius
-Batman, Robin, Batmobile, Spider-Man, Spider-Man Car ?, Superman, Mr. Mxyzptlk, The Hulk, The Thing, Captain America, The Lizard, Green Goblin
*** 3-3/4" Figures ***
Batman, Robin w/Batmobile, Joker w/Exploding Bridge playset, Spider-Man, Hulk, Capt America, Superman, Aquaman,
That brings back memories.

Re: What MEGO toys did you have as a kid or still own?
I was born in 1980, so MEGO's time had passed by the time I started getting into toys. But I still had a few--Superman, Spiderman, blonde guy from Dukes of Hazzard, Captain Kirk, and a beat up Green Goblin head that I found in my grandma's shed.
I would like to pick up the Teen Titans one of these days.
Regarding the Pocket Heroes, I had Spidey, Hulk, Spiderman's car, Superman, and Batman.
