Super Freak
Well, friends: this is my first thread!
... That should be celebrated, right?
SMALL SUMMARY:
Genesis:
Fan, as many others, of the movie directed by John McTiernan, I watched for a while the thread created by wookster entitled "HT original Predator- photo thread".
Seeing the excitement generated by the biomask made by Alejandro (taylerdurdem), I could not resist to try my hand on my turn to customization.
Description:
As I didn't want to interfere towards his creations in any way, I had to do differently than Alejandro (for whom I testify of a big affection ):
So I tried to get as close as I could from the likeness to the original in its complex lines.
I wanted, not only to keep the lighting system from the HT model (taking advantage of the opportunity to improve it), but also integrate all the internal details designed by the team of Stan Winston for the 1:1 retail copy distributed by HCG.
My mask settles perfectly on the head of Predator and stays in place in whatever pose (even upside down).
One is not obliged to disconnect the plug (on Predator back) to remove the mask (the temporal connectors make contact.
Visors are thermoformed in a transparent plastic covered with a solar film for the smoked effect.
Now a run of shots (which will be regularly updated on these first pages) showing the work in progress:
First strokes of Micro-Chisel...
... And after a first primer coat sprayed :
First full scraping:
And first testing after a fresh coat of primer:
... That should be celebrated, right?
