I don't know how many people around here follow Toys Revil, the 'essential' blog by Andy Heng, but it was reported earlier today on Facebook that he has suffered a partial stroke.

I just wanted to let folks know and collectively wish him well, and a speedy recovery.

He's one of the good guys and we need him back!

Wooks, think there is more geekin out on the HT riddle thread than people bothered about Andy!

Think guys on SSF don't know who Andy is.

Anyways, sending our hopes to TRE from the UK.

Hope he makes a speedy recovery so he can go back to blogging about esoteric toys I never knew existed.

The internet reaction to this is amazing, goes to show the love of TRE

this is a email to ChrisR, who is doing a great job in sorting some fund raising for Andy.

Hi Cris,

Thank you for this message and the outpour of love and support. I believe these are the fruits of his dedication and passion to his work in the last few years, which were frankly not evident to us and him in the early years of sowing. We’re very touched.

The docs are doing scans on Andy this morning and we are only allowed to visit at 12pm (SG time). All we can do is wait and pray, and consider the ways of treatment and specialists.

As for the fundraising effort, I will need to ask Andy when I see him and seek his wishes. The family will support him, as always, and this is really about him.

You may forward this message to the more than 50 artists in the fundraising pool. It warms our hearts to know that Andy’s hardwork and talent has been recognised and is well-loved by so many people in the global toy community. I shall be printing those messages for him very soon.

Indeed he is a loving person and a loving brother, very generous with his words (and thoughts, either good or bad!) and will do our utmost for his recovery and well-being.

Thank you once again and hope everyone is well too.

Best,
Cindy Heng

For those interested, the very cool Bigshot Toyworks are auctioning an uber rare piece of vinyl for Andy... so if cool designer vinyl is your thang, check it out.

Bigshot Toyworks: Andy is a really great friend who recently had some medical troubles
we are offering this figure for auction to help him.
