nobody got smart until after they maimed the strongest member of the group. They suddenly came up with all kinds of great ideas after super jock jumped down and broke his legs (and got ate by wolves) Where were those great ideas before they let him leap to his death? Iceman suddenly was able to think of scaling back to a ladder on a nearby maintenance post--but only after his buddy became the dinner for wolfpack. Ugh.
