Stephen King is my own favorite author. But, as has been mentioned, lately he has been slipping a little in the quality of his work.

Danny was an interesting character and there's lots of potential there. When you say "The Shining" you think of the hotel - but that's not really what the book was about (although it IS what the movie is about).

Same here.
I hope we get some more info about how Danny and Hallorann after the events at the Overlook. The ending made me think they spent some time together afterwards and Danny was able to understand his 'shine' more. I mean I know he is probably dead by now with it being 40 years later, but that is what flashbacks are for.
