Well... since it seems the trumpets have been broken out and they are playing taps over the 1/6 Indy line... it is up to us to keep this stuff going :) ( although I would like to think that they may just come back and do at least one or two more before they officially throw in the towel.... Sallah anyone..) Anyway... Dietrich here has been an ongoing project for quite a while... I gathered up parts from a few different vendors and the parts box... The headsculpt is the ever elusive DML "Faulkner" head that bears a decent resemblance to Wolf Kahler... I resculpted his chin a bit to give it a deeper cleft and added the cheek scar... The uniform is all DML bits, Did leather boots, Newline leather holster, Battlegear woven insignia and TTL shoulderboards..

I would like to get him out and take good photos of him this weekend... just depends on whether I find the time... guess I need Gobler now :) ... enjoy..

yeah.. I didn't even bother picking up the German uniform Indy... in fact in the top photo you can see my custom German disguise Indy over Dietrich's shoulder... also done with DML uniform pieces, leather Did boots, woven insignia by Battlegear, leather ammo pouches by Newline... for sideshow to attempt WW2 german stuff considering everything that is already out there was kind of a silly move... a map room Indy would have been such a much better decision.. and much better opportunity for accessories... medallion, staff, notebook, maproom brush, transit, exclusive could have been a polystone portion of the floor... but no.. we got german Indy.. which was/is a complete dud... oh well..

map room indy>>>>>german indy.
stupid, stoopid German Indy. :banghead

But that custom is quite nice!

:clap

BRAVO!

Best Dietrich I've ever seen.... besides mine. :D

The little details are excellent, all the right badges and boards, even the scar. Love it.

If you have time, I'd love to see the SS Belloq and Toht along side your Dietrich.

Mike, your Vogel is Awesome!!!

Also, I agree with Ron's comment above, we all have to keep being creative ... there are enough Indy sculpts from Trevor now (meaning the 2 that came with ROTLA Indy and Indy the German Disguise) that we all can make a TOD Indy and a LC Indy.

Mike, your Vogel is Awesome!!!

And his Dietrich is cool too! :lol

Seriously Mike, another winner! Thanks for posting the info on how to build a Dietrich figure of that caliber. I'm definitely going to have to make my own to go with Belloq and Toht...

Not to mention a Vogel to go with Indy and Henry Sr. :D

For what it is worth.. Vogel is on deck for being built.. all of the necessary parts are in a pile.. original head has been stripped.. so it is just a matter of sitting down and painting him up. .. possibly over the T-giving weekend :)

thought id add my dietrich to this thread. sculpt is none other than vartels.
i need to work on the eyes a bit more but ive lost my tiny brush! he also bears a striking resemblance to david coulthard too
