Sorry if this has been posted already but i couldn't find any topics. For a while now i've wanted high end Star Trek collectables and so with the massive success of "Star Trek" in 2009, Trekkies everywhere have been treated with two specialist companies to bring to the final frontier a level of detail and quality that other companies such as Playmates, Funko and Diamond Select Toys have never achieved. Quantum Mechanix and eFx Collectables will produce items based on JJ Abrams Star Trek and the classic franchisee (respectively) and i for one can't wait BUT... something is missing.

High end 12 inch collectable replica figures based on "Star Trek". Sideshow?, Hot Toys?, Medicom? Whoever it is that steps up and goes boldly with the care and quality craftsmanship that us collectors have come to expect from these companies will make this Trekkie a very happy boy. A line based on JJ Abrams Star Trek would be perfect in my mind - Terminator has one, as does Wolverine - both films didn't do that great at Box Office but still have the leading specialist toy company in the 6th scale arena making figures for each of those films, i have to ask.. where is the love for Star Trek?

Just imagine a 12 inch Star Trek figure collection that was as good as your Sideshow Star Wars collection, a Trek collection that didn't look out of place standing next to your MMS Hot Toys figures or your DX01 Hot Toy's Joker... this would be a world i would love to live in. So come on Sideshow (or Hot Toys!) step up, grow a pair and release some mighty fine Star Trek 6th scale figures based on arguably the best film of 2009.

Star Trek is back!

I really hope they do this...it's a cash cow. Imagine what Trevor Grove could do with a figure of Chris Pine's Kirk, or Quinto's Spock...or the Nimoy Spock.

Seeing as the movie was a success and they are doing at least 1 sequel, this would be a good license to get, there are so many Star Trek fans out there, it's like another Star Wars.

I'm hoping with the 25th Anniversary of TNG coming up, we may get something from that series too. I wonder if there is something to obtaining this license that we aren't aware of. It is strange, the lack of quality 1/6 Star Trek stuff.
