These guys are starting to show up in stores and deserve their own thread. If you haven't heard, Thinkway has produced new toys designed to be closer replicas of the movie models.

Toys R Us and Target had Buzz for $50. I saw RC at Target for $65 and Woody at Toys R Us for $50.

I picked up a Buzz at Toys R Us. They were just put up recently, but all of the Buzz boxes were a bit squashed so it looks like they were packed too tightly. Despite being marketed as replicas, paint apps were a bit spotty, so compare them at the store if you can. They varied a bit, particularly in the face. I had to return the first one because the red wing light wasn't working, so check that out as well.

Buzz has two modes. The first is the demo setting/toy mode with basic light and sound features. It also has an interactive mode that responds to noises, opening the flip-up communicator, retracting the helmet, and popping out the wings. If the wings are out, Buzz makes flying noises when you pick him up. The head also turns automatically.

Quality control is standard for a toy, though not up to par for replicas. All in all though, it's a nice piece at $50.

I have yet to see any of these except for the Bucket of Soldiers. I found the "Movie Scale" Karatae Chop Buzz and Plush Woody today at TRU., but I don't want those.

I also have Buzz. He's pretty cool. I'm really impressed that they pulled off the pop-up, pop-open wings with the blinking lights on the tips.

Wow. They actually have blinkers?! Cool.

I adore the accurate spaceship box the most. Can't wait for this. Will be getting him instead of that new interactive Buzz coming out.

I picked up both 'Andy's Room' Buzz and Woody yesterday and they are fantastic! These are exactly what I was hoping any company would produce. Buzz is such a fun figure to play with, the articulation is great and the light up lazer and lights on the wings are awesome.

Woody is also an excellent figure, the tailoring on his cowboy outfit is great and scale wise both he and Buzz are perfect, he also comes with a stand. They both say a ton of stuff too, I think Buzz says about 30 phrases and Woody has 50 or so. Like I said, these guys are just the type of thing I was hoping would come along, now I need to get Rex and some Aliens and I'll feel complete. :D

I remember seeing a Mr. Potato Head for this collection on Amazon, but they don't seem to have it listed anymore. I'll see if I can dig up a picture somewhere.

I didn't want Buzz all that much before, but seeing the pictures and hearing from someone who has him makes me want him. I don't know if I'll actually get these or not, but they are really tempting. If I happen to stumble upon them in a store I don't know if I'll be able to resist.
