Robert Rodriguez's PREDATORS Movie Thread - SPOILERS

Robert Rodriguez's remake/reboot/whateveryacallit has gotten the official greenlight, and Fox has announced 7/9/2010 as the official release date. I'd expect at least a teaser poster or something at SDCC this year.

No casting news yet, but I imagine that will start coming along any time (they might announce that kinda stuff at SDCC, too). The script is by Alex Litvak, but it's being "polished" by Rodriguez, who may not have even officially signed on to direct yet. So weird how these things get greenlit before so many key cogs are in place. But, then, that's becoming more and more common now.

OK but where's the link from which you got this info? All I found was what's on imdb and you know how unreliable the info there can be.

It's a reboot but other reports have said it's a sequel.

I'm excited about this. It's good to have a Predator movie that's not an AVP.

Re-booting / remaking the original Arnie movie = bad.

Actually the main problem is predator 1 presented the Pred as really bad ass. The novels and comics portrayed them as being far more vulnerable.

I mean I watched avp and really hated the way they killed off the preds. However, predator deaths are more common in the avp universe vs the p1 universe.

What about Bruce Willis, too? I think that would be sweet, but it's unlikely many will agree with me and that he would sign on for something like this.

with a new Pred moviecoming out hopefully Fox will do remasters of P1 and P2 and give them the love they deserve.
