Anyone up for a Steve Austin SSC style? So many cool features could be made with a remake of the old 70's Steve. Oscar, Maskatron and Bigfoot as well.

Ironman, haven't you done some customs of Steve? I seem to recall some customs on eBay as well with 70's porn moustache and wearing a canadian tux etc ..uhh just not sure if it was you or not. They weren't too bad at all.

I should've picked up a sculpt from WANTEDYOU on ebay which I'm regretting now. I think she's stopped that head altogether because of diver4 :emperor recasting her version(?). Then again I didnt like the sculpted Iris's that she tends to do.

Well Sideshow here is your chance to make the ultimate STEVE AUSTIN!!

Kenner did a decent job of the sculpt way back in the 70's, esp with the Maskatron Steve mask, cant be too hard for an '08 rendition :D

PLEAASE please please SS we want the Bionic Man with the funky red tracksuit! Alternate attachable Arm & Legs ..maybe even use the Hot Toys muscle body with slits to expose mech parts underneath I dunno, so maybe possibilites!!

WE WANT YOU TO REBUILD HIM NAAAOOOW!!! :google :emperor

I've made a couple of customs, as has DIE, but the ones on ebay are usually the Bionic-Joe versions.

I've got a huge collection of custom 6MDM stuff and I've sold off a few of mine over the years, but I'd love some stuff from Sideshow, especially a Premium format Steve!

How old are you "Bamboota". Some of us "older" guys here were/are fans of the "Six Million Dollar Man" TV show we grew up watching as kids in the 1970s. That's your opinion that it is "boring". We enjoy it for what it is. A show about a guy that was badly injured in a crash that had to get some robotic or "bionic" parts in his body that made him something of a superman. Yeah, the effects and stunts were "cheezy" back then, but I along with many others still love the show and the character that Lee Majors played as Colonel Steve Austin on this show.

One of my childhood favorites! I used to have the original Steve Austin in the red jumpsuit, along with his boss, Oscar Goldman, and even the "Bionic Woman" Jamie Sommers from Kenner. They were great. I love "die's" custom Steve Austin I've seen here. Jeff's done a great job. I'd love to get a better custom one now, or one from Sideshow. :D

My age is no factor to my statement. I've watched the show...and enjoyed it. Am I a fan...no. Do I think Sideshow should waste there time doing a figure that only a few fans will buy....no. Do I think that a dude in a jumpsuit is fun and creative...no.

So...just becuz ur old...doesn't mean that ur opinion is more valid than mine. I'm just adding my 2 cents to the thread...no need to be-little me becuz of my age.

I'd be down for a SMDM Steve Austin PF! :D

I loved the show as a kid and the characters still have a special place in my heart. :rock

Hell, I still remember that made for TV movie that Sandra Bullock was a part of. It was cheesey but it was a good cheese. :)

Edit:

In all it's glorious cheese! :rock

I'm not belittling you because of your age. Everyone has their opinion. I did not mean that your opinion was not valid, or that mine was "more valid" as you said. I did not say that. I don't think that "Sideshow should waste their time" as you said. Because to me it would NOT be wasting time or effort. I know a fan base is there for the figures from this series.

I would like to see Sideshow do at least Steve Austin as a 1:6 scale figure, or a 1:4 scale Premium Format statue. Yeah, in that "boring red jumpsuit" too.

You have your opinion, and I have mine. We are all entitled to our opinions about what we like, and do not like. I asked you about your age, because those of us that are 30 years of age or older remember watching this show, and liked it when we were kids back then. That is why I asked you about your age. Not to belittle you, or make you less "valid" in any way. I don't do that to anybody. I'm not that type of person.

Bam, the SMDM is a character that us 30+ yr olds grew up watching, and also collected figures from back in the 70's and 80's. For those reasons, why the hell not release a Steve figure or PF to cater to us guys?

I've watched Hogan's Hero's growing up too ..but considered it to be boring, and easily passed on the characters when SSC released them. Still, SSC deemed that there was enough of a market to sell to.

I also think that there would be a smaller market for Hogan and Col. Klink, compared to the SMDM as well. Hell, how many Steve Austin figures, Maskatron, Jamie Somers, Oscar Goldman were made by Kenner, and were still selling in Toy Shops long after the show was done? Still today, people are buying up these vintage figures on ebay - there is a pretty big market for SMDM collectibles. Why not benefit from that?

It's hard to know where a person is coming from when it's all in text format...and I don't argue on here either....it's just that I alway have to be in defense mode since not alot of people like what I have to say most of the time.

So...sorry if I came on to harsh....As long u respect my opinion and I respect yours...it's all good in da hood.
:peace

Agreed greyrabbit! :D I'm with you in knowing that there IS a market out there of fans that will buy SMDM figures from Sideshow or even Hot Toys!

I liked Hogan's Heroes, and saw reruns of it as a kid too. But yeah, if Sideshow can produce a line of figures from that show they should DO some SMDM figures too. I guess it may be rights and licensing issues holding it back. Sometimes that can derail any line from being produced. :(

But here's to hoping that SMDM will get made soon! :D

As a kid, I absolutely loooooooooooooooooooved the Six Million Dollar Man. It was actually my favorite show on the air. Back in the 70s, we didn't have x-box, playstation, internet, vcrs, cell phones, walkmens, and whatever else which might appear more hip than some fellow with a bionic arm.

We lived on reruns of the Munsters, Star Trek, Gilligan's Island, Get Smart and numerous other cool shows from the 60s. We actually went to the theatres to see movies otherwise we might not ever get a chance to ever see them... lol.

Sadly, some shows don't pass the test of time all that well for everyone...
