Hi all,
I recently received this BEAUTIFUL Bandai 1/72 X-Wing Fighter model that has been assembled and painted by my friend in Sweden. It is staggering that he's been able to recreate an ILM quality paintjob on a model that is so much smaller than the studio scale miniatures used for filming.
In the first photo, the ILM model is on the left and my Bandai 1/72 model is shown on the right. I added a hint of canopy "glass" to the Bandai model photo so it was an even closer match to the ILM photo.
The second photo shows the same ILM model but this time, I scaled down the Bandai model photo to show just how much smaller it is compared to the scale of the original.
Next on the bench is the Bandai 1/72 "Gold Leader" Y-Wing model.
Thanks for looking,
Chris
