1/4 NECA Robocop respray tips?

Hi
Has anyone done a respray of the 1/4 NECA Robocop.

I have seen a few but they were done with airbrushing, looked great but not something I do.

Has anyone tried with regular spray paints?

Spray paint will not give the desired look. Airbrushing would be the only way.

Translucent paints.
