Fantastic Beasts Newt Scamander sixth scale figure review

Tonight I'm checking out one of the nicest Star Ace releases in awhile - Newt Scamander from Fantastic Beasts! He's not quite Dumbledore good, but he can certainly hold his own with most other figures in the category. You can find my review here:

I got my Newt figure a few weeks ago and I think he's an awesome figure!

Many mixed feelings on this release. Uncertain if I'll get him. The clothes seem a wee too bulky still. Does the expression look more natural in person?

I saw Baggins' shelf pics over in the HP thread and the coat does hang very well - impressively so. I'm glad to hear the expression is better in person, some angles give him the "mouthguard" look.

I'm getting some mixed vibes on the paints. I'm probably more forgiving than others usually, but something seems off. If you had to rank the paint on a scale of Big Chief to Hot Toys, with say, the ThreeZero Power Armor unmasked sculpt somewhere in the middle, where would you place Newt?

Nice review as always. No interest in the figure myself, but glad it came out nicely for those that ordered it.

Certainly better work around the eyes, lips, and teeth than on the Power Armor portrait.

Great review. Huge fan of the movie and Newt in particular. Not sure I can get this or not, though. So many other things out there at the moment.

In the case of Eddie Redmayne as Newt, I think the eye paint is accurate. He never looks the other actors in the eye. He's always gazing off over their shoulder. Creepy.
