David Hasselhoff, who sang the theme to the original '80s homage cult short, will also appear in the action-comedy from David Sandberg and KatzSmith Productions.
The hotly anticipated feature-length follow-up to one of the biggest cult short film of recent years has lined up an Oscar-nominated star.
Michael Fassbender has been cast in David Sandberg's action-comedy Kung Fury, which Sandberg will also star in and produce under his Laser Unicorns banner, alongside Fassbender. David Hasselhoff, who appeared in the original Kung Fury and sang the theme song "True Survivor," will also join the cast.

Released in 2015, Kung Fury was a Kickstarter record-breaking success, was selected for the Directors' Fortnight in Cannes and has gained over 40 million views worldwide. The feature, which will be a sequel to the original short, is set to shoot this summer in Europe and the U.S. (Watch the original here.)

The action is set in 1985 Miami, which is kept safe under the watchful eye of Kung Fury, the greatest damn cop of all time. Kung Fury’s Thundercops are the ultimate police force assembled from across history to defeat the villainous Kung Fuhrer, Adolf Hitler. After the tragic death of a Thundercop causes the group to disband, a mysterious villain emerges from the shadows to aid in the Fuhrer’s quest to attain the ultimate weapon. Kung Fury must travel through space and time itself to save his friends, defend the prestigious Miami Kung Fu Academy and defeat evil once and for all.

David Katzenberg, Seth Grahame-Smith and Aaron Schmidt will produce under their KatzSmith Productions banner, following their enormous success with It, which grossed over $700 million worldwide to become the biggest-grossing horror film of all time. Philip Westgren of B-Reel Films and Conor McCaughan will also produce. Pelle Strandberg is executive producing on behalf of Laser Unicorns.

I don't know how any movie could possibly live up to the awesomeness of that synopsis. :lol

Kung Fury was fun to watch exactly once. I got far more mileage out of that song Hasselhoff provided them with, honestly.

That was fast. Do you have a spidey sense...or a Grace sense? :lol

this is how Chakor sees grace in his mind:

Original was crap. Watched it once and that was too much.

On the other hand, lost count of how much I played FC3 Blood Dragon.
