I'm in the camp that feels Asmus LOTR line doesn't get enough credit. Yea, they have some issues, but I think much of the complaining around this particular series shows just how spoiled we've become in the sixth scale market. I'm checking out the eighth member of their Fellowship tonight, Boromir. I'm looking at both the rooted hair and sculpted hair version, and yes, one is definitely superior to the other. Neither is a perfect likeness, but it's Boromir. You can find my take here:

Great review Michael - I can't wait for this figure.

I've gone with the sculpted hair option which was probably the wrong decision now as the rooted looks really good. Do you know if the sculpted hair (helmet haha) head has the same sculpted ears underneath as the rooted hair - just thinking that I might re-hair it and I would like to be able to tuck the hair behind the ears of I do? Not sure if you can tell that easily with the sculpted hair in the way but (only if it's possible to check easily) I would be very grateful to know if the ears are there.

Turned out really great. I wish I had ordered the rooted hair now, since it seems to be easily be the better of the two. The sculpted hair does look nice though.

I don't know what to think about the sculpted hair. They do seem to lack in details, but i hate rooted hair so much lol (even when they look good, i'm just not the rooted type).

I might try to give the hair some shading or color wash.
