The game is already hard as it is. Co op makes it even harder lol. They'll eventually get to that I think. Only a handful of guys working on this game.

 
looking at the videos, can say it's not anywhere like Retro.

the mechanism is much more complex requiring players to constantly move in 1 direction and aiming at another.

doesn't look like you have a separate control for the aim so everything has to be done on the movement stick.
 
Is there a casual/easy setting for this game? I tend to play games to de-stress after work, which is why I don't tend to pick up absurdly hard games.
 
Yeah, there's a 'simple' mode for each level which reduces the health of the bosses and cuts out some of the attack patterns. For the record, Cuphead isn't absurdly hard at all; it's less of a motor skills challenge and more of a muscle memory thing. I'm awful at really hard platformers like Super Meat Boy and I'm managing.
